What really sucks is when both Microsoft and Sony get hit with DDoS attacks. I know it's not their fault but still frustrating.

Downtime for both services is not that common of an occurrence, nor is it for more than a few hours. Count how many days are in a year, how many hours they are both up, it is less than a tenth of a percentile, lol.

Seriously! Only the Internet makes it so much bigger than it really is. You can never fully stop DDOS. Steam and Origin are affected just as much, as well as individuals games and their services on the PC.

It doesn't matter if they're down 0.01% of their time if they're down 100% of the time you try to use it. Whether or not Steam or Origin or Xbox live are affected just as much is irrelevant. Why are you always comparing things? Would it make you feel better if someone said they all suck and need 100% uptime instead of singling out Sony?

I think it's rather silly to complain about services which are subject to so many formalities that is normally rock solid 99.997% of the time.

Yes I actually did the math, it was quite simple really. Why always jump on the hate train when there is always a perspective?

It is a waste of energy and just muddies threads with senseless whining. That is some solid consistency compared to most things in life people don't complain about with such hyperbolic statements. But gamers... we are a fickle and entitled bunch quite often I suppose.

Still, I have a right to counter argue with data as much as someone who just wants to make some noise for 2 hours, and wants to ignore that nothing is bulletproof.

Clearly you are choosing to overlook where I am saying, expecting 100% uptime on a electronic service is delusional.

But you're not arguing, you're shifting blame. You aren't arguing that Sony's network doesn't have issues because it does, you're just saying every other service goes down as well. I just dont see the point.

Also, like I said nothing is proven either way. The site you linked, how exactly does it show that PSN is more stable than others? Just a quick glance at the last few months in the calendar and it looks like PSN is almost always under fire.

And this is just a personal thing, but why do people use the word entitled with gamers? We are the customer, we spend money on these products. We are entitled like every other base of customers to a service that works to the best of its capabilities. If people don't think they're getting their money's worth, they complain. It's not people saying I deserve this just because, it's people saying I pay for this **** so it needs to work.

I personally am just used to PSN's outages and they don't often affect me, but if you work 80 hours a week and have 2 hours on a Saturday to play Draft Champions, then you expect it to work when you get that chance. It's as simple as that. Excuses and sorry we're under attack is a reason, but the customer doesn't care why the problem is happening, just when the fix is coming. Sony and MS arent as sensitive to this criticism as some of their fans are.

You are correct you can't stop DDOS attacks AND steam is just as likely to face the same problems, but guess what the big difference is................................................ ......

Doesn't matter if free or paid, people still complain. That is the gist of the whole session we are having here. Nothing is impervious whether it be paid or free. PSN was up 99.997% so far this year... that is some good uptime, no matter how one wants to spin it.

Well the problem is it's not working when it's least convenient for them. So either they honor that and provide back, or they say that we only pay when we play as opposed to a year's subscription.

Right, but what other pay-to-play/subscription service offers refunds for minimal downtime?

I'm not trying to downplay the downtime and I know its frustrating, but sometimes you have to keep perspective.

Excellent uptime or not, I hate multiplayer gateway subscriptions. If I didn't have friends and other OS members to play with, I wouldn't subscribe. Plus games mean nothing to me. They're just there to make you feel better about paying for something so worthless.

I agree about the games part. Yeah I play some of them but for the most part couldn't care less.

Well I just got a e-mail, evidently my PSN account was hacked during the PSN DOWNTIME. They stole $74.98 and $5.00, and guess what Sony response was "I'm sorry for this, I'll add this back to your Sony Wallet".........NO, I need this is my bank account. "Sorry we can't do that".

Oh and my PSN account has the highest level of security incase anyone is wondering. 2 factor auth, strong account password, password for any purchase, and they bypassed all this while the service was down WTF.

I'm so aggravated right now, Sony customer support is worse in business!
