Now see for you, since you don't own a 4K tv, I'd say the Slim is maybe more of an easy sell. Especially if you're money stingy, lol

Btw, you are aware the Slim has no optical right? If you have headphones like an Astro A50 or such that requires an optical you may need to reconsider a Slim.

I dont. Does the PS4 support bluetooth like the 3 does? I was thinking about what I should use for a mouthpiece and headphones since I heard the earpiece that comes with it is really lacking. I have also been looking around and the gamestop near my house is showing they still have an OG PS4 Uncharted bundle for $250 though I haven't called them to verify though. I'm not really sure the benefits of the slim over the OG.

The PS4 supports bluetooth but I think there's issues with many headsets that use bluetooth from the PS3 era not working on the PS4. For example, the Sony headsets themselves actually use a USB-to-Bluetooth connector (which is a paint to try to keep from losing btw).

The earpiece that comes with the PS4 is pretty basic, yes I'd certainly look to replace it asap. There's a bunch that are pretty decent that you plug into the controller (if you don't want to spend more money on wireless).

Here is one with really good ratings on Amazon for $18.99 (note its wired though)

Reading further, I am seeing that the Uncharted bundle is actually a slim console and not the OG. Awesome. This is definitely what I am getting and I might pick me up another headset while I am there along with WWE 2k17 and all of the DLC. Then I'm coming home and signing up for PS Plus and also preordering Friday the 13th and all of the DLC. Should be a good day. lol

That does sound like a great day more than a good day!

Hey if you have a stereo and just want to be able to talk to others while you game online I have this set and it works really well and it's cheap, it just is a communicator though, your music and game sound will still come through your stereo but talking to people would be through this headset

Add me when you get on PSN if you like, I play mostly FPS and Sports games : OS_ODogg

Not sure if you'd want to go through Dell but they have the PS4 Uncharted 4 500gb bundle plus an extra, free game Xcom 2 for $229 and free shipping.

Hmm, Ill have to look into that. Anything I save means I can put money towards other accessories or games I want or to add to my retro collection. Thanks for that.

Without providing sales numbers, DEG reported “first-year sales data shows consumers are enthusiastically embracing” Ultra HD Blu-ray Disc, buying films and TV shows “at a faster pace than they did” in 2006 when two high-definition disc formats, Blu-ray Disc and HD-DVD, were launched.

Buoyed by consumer adoption of 4K television and increased content selection, about 8.4 million 4K UHD Blu-ray Discs will be sold in 2017, according to new data from Futuresource Consulting.

We buy digital not for the quality (if it's HD we're good) but instead it's for accessibility. 3 TVs, 2-3 computers, at least 3 tablets all accessing the same library. We have 1 4k disc (The Martian) and will likely only ever have a small collection of them after amassing large collections of DVD and Blu-Ray discs.

Well I think what I meant, and what Sony is going by, is the overall trend about physical media, not really UHD specifically. I think right now people are buying UHD because many people don't have fast enough broadband to stream *OR* if they do they are seeing not seeing the quality they desire in their connection and going and buying disc.

I'm not really arguing one way or the other, I understand why people may want to buy UHD, hell I understand it completely, if you spend thousands on a TV you want a damned perfect picture not a subpar stream of a movie, but I prefer digital.

With that being said, let me get back to you on that once I get a 4K TV, lol..if I'm not seeing real good streaming I plan to go buy a player and a disc and then I guess I'll sell my UHD player once the Scorpio comes out.

You can't forget that not everyone has access to high internet speeds and/or the bandwidth to handle 4K. Plus everyone would agree that disc quality > streaming quality.

Well yeah, that's what I was saying, I think the demand for UHD physical media will go back down when people start getting better broadband speeds. Easy enough for most people to stream 1080p but 4K is a heck of a lot more demanding.

IMO that's 100% the reason that UHD sales have gone up comparable to older media, not because people actually want a physical copy but because they really don't have much choice, if they want to experience the movie in 4K they have to go buy the physical media.

A console with a uhd player will still be able to stream uhd though. It was left off the pro because of cost.

If I'm buying a movie I'll always buy the disk version for the most part. I would like more digital rental uhd options though. At least VUDU is getting that going. 10 bucks a rental though.

If you have a 4K tv with good HDR the difference is very noticeable. Some games more than others.

Ok so I hooked up the pro and NBA 2k installed fine but then during startup I got a disc read error. Tried multiple times and same thing.

Installed madden. It won't even get past the title. Then the disk gets stuck and I have to hard power cycle.

Took it back. Got another one and the same damn thing happened.

Is there something going on I'm not aware of? I'm taking it back to gamestop again to have them look at it.

Any ideas what could be going on?
