Is there something going on I'm not aware of? I'm taking it back to gamestop again to have them look at it.

Any ideas what could be going on?

Are you using ps4 pro or PS4??

I had issues with games not working only once I took out the 1tb hard drive

I'd get messages like an error has occurred in system software..

    Stuff like that..

Seems I have a faulty hard drive however I went ahead & left the 2tb drive in because a ton of other games work fine only a select few freeze or lock up system such as NBA 2k17 WWE2k17 Infinite Warfare to name a few

I'm hoping the upcoming 4.50 system software update will fix whatever issues may be wrong with Harddrive..I won't know officially if it's the drive though until 4.50.. thx

      Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion

Ok this is a bit embarrassing, but its also bizarre so I hope you guys understand why I was about to blow up.

So I brought the system back up to Gamestop and the guy tested copies of their Madden and NBA 2K on it, the two games that were messed up. They both worked.

He then tested mine and both messed up the same way it did at home.

So the thing is, I traded my old PS4 for the Pro the day before yesterday. And the night prior I played both Maddem and 2K. Both were fine. Had a disc read error a couple time on 2K in the past but always worked when restarting the system. So why would I think it would just be those discs? Well it turns out he cleaned the discs real good and low and behold they both worked fine.

So needless to say I'm happy, and they are working fine at home now, but i just find it very bizarre that two discs which were working fine two days ago were damaged or whatever, just two days later and not work in a new system until thoroughly cleaned.

And one question, I do have a 4K TV but I'm wondering which resolution to set it? Auto, or 2160p-RBG?

I'm also not sure which HDMI port to use, or if that even makes a difference.

And something else weird happened. The first system I had when I started up NBA 2K i saw a little pop up on the corner of my tv screen that said HDR enabled Now it doesn't show it. Not sure what that's about.

If you own a good 4k TV, you're doing yourself a disservice by not getting a Pro, especially with boost mode being added.

With that being said, I don't believe we know about the Pro improvements for The Show yet.

So using HDR in NBA 2K completely ruins the game. It looks terrible. Everything gets dim and washed out. I read that this was happening to a lot of people when the HDR and 4K patch was released. Haven't been able to find if this has been solved or what the issue is/was.

          Any ideas?

I have a launch day PS4, if there is even one small fingerprint on my discs they will not load, it's very fussy. That's why 95% of my games are digital.

You need to make sure your TV backlight is set to max when using HDR.

Also, you are remembering the Xbox One 4k and HDR bug, that's not a PS4 issue.

Set it to 2160p-RBG. As for what port to use what TV are you using? I know for Vizio its port 5 but it really depends upon your TV.

Do you have game mode enabled?

Ks8000 is great. I've never ran into the back light issue when using hdr that somebody posted about above.

Only complaint about the tv is the wireless card in it is junk. Not a huge deal though since I don't really need to rely on the smart tv apps. if you're going to use the smart tv apps and your tv is not right near your router I would recommend a hard wired connection.

I was watching a video the other day about HDR and it's on the true side to get the full effect of HDR on any system, you should have your back-light maxed out its works hand in hand with HDR. I have The ONE S and trust me it makes a huge difference.

I haven't had to touch anything backlight wise and my hdr looks fine. I've never had the dimming issue. Not sure if the Ks8000 handles it itself or if I changed a setting during setup that takes care of it.

That's because it's an Xbox One issue, not a PS4 one. But ricky24, you should have your backlight set to Max for HDR gaming, I've read that on every site about HDR and gaming.

I have a OneS. I'm not saying I shouldn't or don't have my back light at max. I'm saying the tv seems to take care of it for me.
