We all have choices we can make and I have waited for a year to upgrade lately. The first year of a new console is usually high on price and weak on games.Comment

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
It all depends on the way they go about it. If they don't make it so PS4/pro games can play on the "ps5" then there are gonna be issues for a lot of people and that's understandable. I would hope Sony wouldn't make that mistake. With where we are tech wise it would seem silly if I couldn't play games like horizon zero dawn and red dead 2 on sonys next console. Especially if it comes out in the near future.Comment

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
What is a Pro Pro...or rather, what's the difference between that and a proposed PS5?Originally posted by Gibson88Anyone who asked for an ETA is not being Master of their Domain.
It's hard though...especially when I got my neighbor playing their franchise across the street...maybe I will occupy myself with Glamore Magazine.Comment

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
Just the analyst who predicted the Slim and Pro is saying a new PS system will launch in fall of 2018. Doesn't specify what it is. So I said PS5 or an updated version of the Pro

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
It's not that simple imo. When a new console comes out the majority of resources for a game franchise go to the new game and the old version is left in the dust. It does impact the current gen. And if new consoles aren't BC it makes it more expensive to upgrade.

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
I hope they don't release a new console until at least 2019. If Sony does release a PS5 or just another upgraded version of the Pro I think that will be my last console purchase. I just don't see myself upgrading to a new console every other year.Comment

More or less this is my approach. Enjoying each iteration from start to finish and getting a good 30%+ off of the next one, I'm up for that.Comment

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
I just saw this tonight but I think it is to soon for a few reasons and I think 2019 would be better.
1. Ps4 sales are still going really strong and not really slowing down much. http://www.dualshockers.com/2017/04/...on-march-2018/
2. It would only be 2 years after pro and I think that would piss a lot of people off.
3. This kind of goes with 2 but if you have ps5 in 2019 that would be 3 years from ps4 to pro and 3 years from pro to ps5. I think that would be better because then pro would be like a true half way point for ps4 and I think more people would upgrade after 3 years after pro then 2.
4. This kind of goes with 1 but not only is ps4 still going strong with sales but with games to. I think a lot of people would say they are hitting there like prim time with ps4 like this year or maybe starting last year and there are several games that may come out next year. I don't see ps5 coming out in till sales start to slow down a lot more and the amount of big games looks to be slowing down to. GOW, Spider-Man, Days gone could all be 2018 games and then you still have some other games like TLOU 2 that could be 2019.
Last this is just my own like thoughts about ps5 not so much about when it comes out just some thoughts. I like Sony a lot but because of stuff like ps4 pro and now there being some rumors about a slim pro maybe coming out that could play 4k bluray's after I already bought a 4k player and the fact I don't really like this whole mid gen upgrade thing like the pro and because nothing like this had ever happened before I am most likely going to want when ps5 comes out to make sure we don't get a like ps5 pro or something a few years after ps5 comes out. If I had known ps4 was going to get ps4 there is a good chances I would have not gotten a ps4 in till the pro instead of getting ps4 at launch.Last edited by Smallville102001; 04-29-2017, 02:52 AM.Comment

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
I would definitely expect a newer console to "rival" Scorpio and I would welcome it as long as I'm able to move my huge collection of PS4 games.
I got 3+ years of use out of my OG PS4 and I'm hoping to at least get the same or similar out of my PS4 Pro before moving on to something else. The investment just keeps getting pricier. When I bought my 32" LG and OG PS4 it cost me $650 and now the Pro and 4K Monitor cost $900.. there's a trend starting to develop here.
Unrelated: I'm selling my OG PS4 for $150.00 to a co-worker. I tried explaining that the store here has the Uncharted Collection PS4 Bundle on sale for $250, but he would rather save the $100 and buy a 3+ year old console from me. It's well taken care of, but man It's seen a lot of gaming and video streaming.Comment

That is true because if you could play ps4 games on ps5 and transfer saves over to or something then maybe you could get 100 in trade in value for ps4 console or something and so then ps5 wouldn't cost as much and if it was backwards then maybe ps5 would make ps4 games look better or something to.
PS3 and 360 are still getting a good number of games, including sports games. I don't think the PS4 library will cease to exist once the PS5 is released. The consumer has to decide if they want to play a title on the new console or one they currently own. There will be options.
Sony is like the best when it comes to this how ever once a new system comes out sports games tend to became more of a roster update on the older system compared to the newer one and also the over all amount of games and like focus on the older system declines and goes more to the newer system. If ps5 where to come out in 2018 for example after like 2019 the amount of new games still coming out on ps4 would decline by a lot and games like madden would most likely not change much any more.Comment

If I was him I would rather spend 100 more to get the new one then getting a used console. I don't like buying things like a console used but I also tend to have bad luck with systems. I had 2 gamecube's stopped reading disk, ps3 that got YLOD, Wii that stopped picking up controllers and also had some issues with powering it on and getting a picture.Comment
