That's fine but what works for you necessary isn't going to work for me or someone else in general. Yeah, I have had internet starting with Dreamcast of all things and then NetZero and for the last several years, Optimum Online for my laptop. I just don't have the need or desire to be online 24/7. If anything, I think people are too obsessed with it all but that's just me.
Times do change but you're not required to change with them if what's being changed doesn't suit you or meet your needs or requirements. Majority just follow everyone else and go with the flow as opposed to doing what they truly want to do. I'm not a leader but im definitely, absolutely and positively not a follower. I simply do everything my way because in the end, it's for me and my satisfaction, not anyone else's. And im sure that you and everyone else do exactly the same thing so why would you change just because someone else is doing something different than you?
I have never had a problem with this. I don't need every update the second it gets released and more times than not, if im going to update a game or the console, I'll actually wait a few days because there's always some bugs and glitches that need to be ironed out and I prefer to let others test it out for me. Plus, if it's for a game that im near done with, I won't even bother updating the game because there's no reason for me to do so.
To plug/unplug the Ethernet cable takes me two minutes max and with the fast internet connection I have, I rarely ever have to wait more than 30 minutes or so and even if it's longer, I usually run errands or do other stuff that I need to get done anyway. Basically, I kill two birds with one stone.
It's never been an inconvenience for me and I have been this way since Xbox 360/PlayStation 3. I'm not going to change what has worked for me but like Gamer and I have said a million times, to each their own.
