If it were me I would just set that money aside for a decent 4k tv and think about upgrading my console down the line after that purchase.

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
I have a Samsung 1080p plasma.
It really depends on the games. It ran so much better for The Show and The Last Guardian. Uncharted looked better but I was already wowed, and Rocket League definitely ran smoother in parts (you can even tell in the menu alone) I'm not convinced that Remote Play with Vita is any better, though. I seem to lose connection more often than I did with my original PS4. It's supposed to have 1080p for PC Remote Play.
I still think it's worth it, but it definitely was a steep price at the same time. I never turned in my original, though I'm thinking that I should, but I still use it time-to-time since it is in my bedroom and the Pro is in the living room.
Games that take advantage of the framerate will definitely make this thing better, or if they get rid of some jaggies. Can't wait to play Tomb Raider on it. Still peeved they never gave Ratchet & Clank a 60 FPS option, even though I hear the 4K + HDR looks beautiful on it.
If you're really uncertain, do what I did and buy one to test it out, and return it if you don't want it.

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
Finally going all in and picking up a 4k TV along with a PS4 Pro in the next week or so. I've been wanting to upgrade for a while, but I think the time is right for me. That, and I really want to experience Destiny 2 in its full glory.
Can't wait.Comment

Hmmm... didn’t even think about discount codes. My 1 month subscription was to end on 08/29 but on Thursday I jumped outta the window and got a year for full retail. Pretty excited about it even though I don’t play online.

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
Forgive my laziness for not looking further back in this thread, but I'm considering upgrading to the Pro from my launch PS4. I have one of the last Panny Plasma's 1080p that is 3 years old. Considering trading in the console at Gamestop (I know, but they have the best trade in value).
This really worth it for not having 4K HDR? Hoping to get some info from some peeps on here that are still running a 1080p TV.
I played Madden on Xbone on ea early access then on my ps4 before buying the pro. When I first booted up the pro I was kind of disappointed. Not sure what I was expecting since the dash and everything are the same, but I kind of had immediate buyers remorse feeling like a I shouldn't have spent the money since I had a perfectly good working PS4. Even after Madden booted up I was still disappointed even thought the menus were much smoother to navigate without lag, but it really didn't look any different. Then I loaded up a game and was instantly relieved as soon as the game went into motion. The performance boost is instantly noticeable in the framerate. This was just night and day and alone was worth the upgrade. In addition to the framefrate jump the resolution was slightly improved and colors popped more.
I will say that the best way to tell if upgrading is for you is to look at the games you play the most and find out if they are improved by the pro because games that don't specifically take advantage of it may not change at all. I play Destiny, Injustice, The Show and Madden so once I heard Madden was improved with the pro it felt like it put the system over the fence because enough of the games I play benefit from it. But to my earlier point, when I load up Destiny I don't see a bit of difference.Comment

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
Not only that but unless I'm sitting literally a foot away from my TV my wife, company or one of our four animals could still run/walk in front of me and f*** my stuff up. In regards to the corded controller I mean.
Corded controllers really are for people who are single or sit at a computer or a desk, not for people in a living room environment. I know, I know, breakaway controllers, yada yada yada but guess what, I had one of those once and it didn't breakaway correctly and it took my 360 right to the ground.
No thanks, I'll stick with wireless.
With the technology we have now there is really no excuse for creating corded only controllers anyways IMO. Logitech and other PC makers have corded esports type peripherals which can also be used wireless so there's no reason that couldn't be the case for consoles as well.
I used my Vita charger with a USB extended cable plugged directly in to a wall socket. Its about 20 feet, and will alway be near a wall socket no matter where I sit. No kids, animals, ect. will harm my consoles. I had a 360 knocked over also.

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
I hate the corded controllers also, But I need my controller to be charging all the time while I play. It's just a thing with me, I hate for my controller not to be fully charged at any moment.

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
I think I have a 10’ cable from an old Android that would work PERFECTLY to keep my controller charged as I play. PS4 controllers surely don’t stay full long. The AA battery powered 360 controller seems to last forever though. Lol

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
Are you guys gaming without any breaks for 8+ hours??? And you only have one controller? If so, wow...
I keep seeing this on here about people having this issue but don't most of you guys have two controllers? Why can't you just use one until its dead for 5 or 7 hours or whatever, then switch to your fully charged one, then put the dead one on charge and keep on gaming? Using this method you could basically game without ever stopping..
It seems to me to just be an issue I don't see as a problem but it seems it is for a lot of people...Streaming PC & PS5 games, join me most nights after 6:00pm ET on TwitchTV https://www.twitch.tv/shaunh20

Oh no. I don’t game for more than 1.5 hrs...2.5 hrs at the most. Unless I can’t sleep or something like Saturday night/Sunday morning. The battery life is actually fine but having that 10’ cord while charging just takes a few seconds less than switching controllers. Lol

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
Finally did it. My Destiny Edition PS4 is now at a Gamestop 100 miles away, and I am setting up my PS4Pro. I have been debating whether or not this was going to be worth it, or if I should wait for the Destiny bundle, but man I wanted to go back to the ole black machine haha.
Currently in the process of re-downloading all of my games, and boy am I happy that I no longer have to figure out which game I need to uninstall to install a new one!
I quit playing Horizon until I got this, and can't wait to play The Show and my other 15+ games!

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
So I've been itching to trade in my standard PS4 for a pro. Last i checked I can get a $180 trade in value from GameStop. Only question I have is I buy games didgitally. If I factory reset my PS4 to delete everything does that delete my library too? Or is that connected to my psn account and I'll be able to download off the cloud?Comment
