After watching it last night I came away disappointed. I thought we would have finally gotten some release dates for God of War, Spider-Man, and Days Gone.

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
Was looking for some advice on an issue I am having.
I can't for the life of me get my PS4 Pro to work with my LG Soundbar with my Sony 900E or my Samsung 8000. The Soundbar does have ARC and the cable box works fine. In fact, the PS4 which is connected directly to an HDMI input on my tv does come on and the switching takes place. However, I can't get any sound out of it.
The only way to get sound is to run an optical cable from PS4 to Soundbar, and then switch the Soundbar input to Optical.
Both tvs do have HEC/Anynet enabled. Cable gets sound no problem...but nada from PS4.
Any ideas?

If u look it up on utube they tell u how to do it.Comment

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
Although disappointing not to get true reveal dates for most of 2018's anticipated exclusives and, the 2 VR legends revealed were Rick and Morty (sorry rick and morty fans), we did get a confirmation from Sony that "Days Gone" will be in 2018, and PS user ID name changes should be coming within a year. I also thought there were lots of good information for many of the games expected in 2018, with PSVR getting lots of goodies too and, in particular, VR's Rainbow Six tactical shooter, "Firewall".

- You don't have to make levels, but only just pieces of content others can use if you want
- Others can be invited into a level to help collaborate on putting it together

- Moves are supported with VR but not required
- No release date given other than the standard "2018"

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
Sony is giving away free PS4 dynamic themes and avatars. All you have to do go to live.playstation.com and watch the required trailers. There was also a voucher code for a free game, Zombie Vikings for the first 4000 players but that's unfortunately been completed and closed. Did pick up the Call of Duty, Shadow of Colossus, and Uncharted 10 year themes.Comment

But if I have my soundbar set to HDMI ARC and the PS4 to HDMI, there is no sound. I thought this was what CEC/ARC was supposed to handle? No switching of inputs?

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
Lots of new games announced at the Gaming Awards tonight. Kojima Productions released a new cinematic trailer for Death Stranding and again, I'm lost for words of what this is.
<iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/PuUQCpCpsk4" frameborder="0" gesture="media" allow="encrypted-media" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Well, IGN sat down with Kojima and explains Death Stranding gameplay and lore. Sounds like many will make comparisons to the Dark Souls series and Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver. Whatever you may think, it still has that WTF moment even after reading IGN's report.
“Games started over 40 years ago with arcades. When the player dies, it’s game over. You continue, and time goes back to before you die. You can die as many times as you want, but you always go back to a little bit before you die. That was a mechanic made specifically for putting in coins, and it hasn’t changed since then.
As Kojima spoke of the way a vast majority of games treat the concepts of life, death, and mortality, it was clear that Death Stranding was aiming to eschew this tradition. “One of the themes of this game is life and death. So I want people to realize that when they die in the game, that isn’t the end.”
Partway through the latest clip from Death Stranding, Sam (played by Norman Reedus) watches as an explosion engulfs the giant, Lovecraftian-kaiju that projects through the fog. Suddenly we see an upside-down world submerged in water, where Sam exists among the flotsam and jetsam of the universe around him.
From the sound of it, this is where Sam, and the player, go every time they die. But don’t make the mistake of calling this “game over.” When you die in Death Stranding, you’re transported to this purgatory, where you’re free to explore in first-person. Because of some mysterious “unique” abilities Sam possesses, you can wander outside of your body, recovering items among other things. As Kojima explains, “At that point, you’re not dead or alive. It’s the equivalent of that screen that says ‘Continue?’ and a counter ticking down towards zero.”
From what Kojima told us, here's how it sounds -- when you’re ready to return to the world of the living, you can get back into your body. However, unlike most games which set you back to a point before you died, Death Stranding acknowledges your defeat, and seems to even embrace it. You’re transported back to the world after your death -- like in Dark Souls or roguelikes -- where your actions maintain an aura of persistence. The mechanic of “dying” is ubiquitous in video games, but it sounds as though Kojima is implementing systems inspired by purgatory and reincarnation as well.
"So as you saw in the trailer, you saw the crater, and when you come back, it’s still there. Most games would’ve taken you back to before the crater was made. So depending on the player, you might have a lot of craters all over the place -- depends on each player."
“Death will never pull you out of the game,” Kojima firmly stated.

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
Yes...but what I am wondering is, why doesn't the sound just come through the HDMI hookup like it does for my cable? I would rather not switch to Optical for the PS4 Pro. I don't understand why there is no sound. It will play if I switch my soundbar to Optical.
But if I have my soundbar set to HDMI ARC and the PS4 to HDMI, there is no sound. I thought this was what CEC/ARC was supposed to handle? No switching of inputs?

I'm not sure I have a sound bar myself I have vizio 55 inch uhd hdr and vizio sound bar and it runs through the HDMI cable I don't have to switch it to optical to hear it through sound bar.Comment

Catherine Is Being Remade For The PS4 & Vita
Atlus’ cult PS3 hit Catherine is being remade for the PS4 and PlayStation Vita, the publisher announced today.
First released in 2011, Catherine wasn’t just a pretty good action/puzzle game; it had a stylish, confident approach to sex and adult relationships that remains fresh even today.
Persona 5 director Katsura Hashino is in charge of the project—called Catherine FB (for Full Body)—and Famitsu reports that there’ll now be a third Catherine in the game (the original had two endings for two different paths the player could choose).Go Noles!!! >>----->Comment

Funny you say that someone on Xbox forum just said the X was on Walmart for $300 something. Wonder if these are errors or just trying to push out the products
