"It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
Is a launch PS4 worth any more $$? I have that, my son has one from about a year in and I also have a pro. That spider man one looks sweet, I was thinking of trading my Launch one in.Playstation Network:That70s_Gamer

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
A while back I posted about my launch day PS4 experiencing an auto eject issue. Grew so bad it would happen 9/10 times I tried using the thing. So before buying a new one I decided to give a fix I found online a try. Basically all I had to do was remove three stickers on the back of the console, remove three screws with a Torx screwdriver (bought a $10 set off Amazon), pop off a panel and stick a piece of electrical tape over a smalł chip that acts as a censor.
After a good while of use I am happy to say the problem is fixed. And based off what I’ve read, it should be for good. The only small negatives are the warranty becomes void (mine was long expired anyway) and discs can no longer be ejected by pressing the front of the PS4. You have to do so via the PS4 controller.
Anyone experiencing the same issue now or in the future might want to look into doing the same.Comment

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
Listening to a GS rep was your first mistake, lol. You can now order the Pro’s on their site for a 8/17 release date.

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
You are always better off to try and sell it yourself than trading it in. I sold my regular PS4 with a controller and 2TB hard drive for $200.00.Comment

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
Exactly right, almost always you can get WAY more by bundling a bunch of games and selling as a big package to someone like a parent looking for a deal.
I have always done it that way and do much better than just accepting what retailers offer.

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
So I guess Elder Scrolls: Legends may be skipping the PS4 due to the cross-play policy.
https://www.techspot.com/news/75946-...nds-cross.html
It seems Bethesda is growing tired of Sony's antics now, though. The company's senior VP of marketing, Pete Hines, said in an interview with Game Informer that cross-console play for the upcoming Elder Scrolls: Legends card game will be "non-negotiable."
"[The Elder Scrolls Legends] is a strategy card game that encompasses both single and multiplayer," Hines said. "It is our intention in order for the game to come out, it has to be those things on any system."Comment

IMO. It's an interesting marketing ploy so Sony says yes to cross play prior to any new major news announcements.
No secret that Bethesda and Microsoft have been good partners together during this generation and I do believe that Microsoft and Bethesda will make some big announcements together at Gamescom. Not sure Sony will cave yet, and will let Bethesda (if not bought out by Microsoft) make the "to hell with 80+ million customers" call.Comment

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
Bethesda is becoming a joke. First, they try to sue someone selling TEW 2 on Amazon despite the fact that legally, they can't. Not to mention the fact that so many other people are doing the same thing yet Bethesda isn't going after them.
Now, they threaten Sony with a free to play card game???? LMFAO!!!! Good luck with that Bethesda. Why not threaten Sony with Fallout 76? Oh wait, that would cost Bethesda and ZeniMax a lot of money while also pissing off their stockholders. What an empty threat by Bethesda.
As for cross-play in general, I agree with Sony simply because it's business. It comes down to shareholders and money. Until not having cross-play is costing Sony a huge amount of money, it's going to stay a non-factor for them until PlayStation 5. If Microsoft and/or Nintendo was at 82M sold through units, they wouldn't be allowing this either because it's simply bad business to allow your losing competitors to get a boost from your dominance.
With that all said, I do believe that Sony will allow cross-play day one on PlayStation 5 simply because it's a fresh clean start as opposed to where Sony is at now with PlayStation 4.Comment
