Only a couple times have we had an issue, and it's because we need to do a hard reset/power off because the TV app fails to start. Obvious when it is happening because the components don't turn off/on with the Xbox. This has happened maybe 3-4 times since launch.
Thanks, I'll have her try it. She tries to mimic what I do but hasn't caught on yet. She'll add or remove pauses between x and box, other stuff to try lol....

    We'll figure it out.

Questions About Live TV on Xbox One?

Two things, first of All I have found that saying "@ssbox...ON" works best, maybe my xbox one is just a glutton for disparagement though, LOL.

Secondly, my fiancé and I have tried to get the Xbox one to change to ID, or Investigation Discovery channel, well over 100 times to no avail. Someone told me to manually add it or something but I can't find how to do so, anyone have any ideas?

We watch ID a ton and it sucks going back to the remote like its 2012 or something..

        LOL at disparaging the Xbox.

For investigation, try 1 of 2 things:
        1) Manually tuning to it using OneGuide adds it to recent channels, so it's voice activate-able. Maybe while you have the channel up in OneGuide, say "Xbox Select" to turn on active listening for the guide and see what the green text says the channel is called.

        2) Add it to favorites by hitting "A" while the actual channel is selected. Not a show, but the actual tile that says "Investigation Discovery 123". All of your favorites are made part of the grammar.
?The Bulgarian Brothers - a story of two brothers (Oggy and Dinko) as they coach in the NCAA and the NBA.

?Ask me about the Xbox Ally handheld - I'm on the team that made it.

When I did 1 nothing was green for Investigation Discovery but the other channels were green.. which was odd, maybe that's why it wasn't working before or something....

So I did option 2 and it added to favorites so now it works!!

          Thanks once again man!!

Anyone have their Harmony remote working with their One? The thing I am concerned about with this integration is how remotes will be able to function with both TV and the dashboard. Even if I get my 890 working on the dashboard I will not be able to navigate around my DirecTV menus right?

You don't use a remote to navigate the One, you use voice commands, gestures or a controller. I have read ppl have no issue using their Harmony remotes in general though.

Harmony remotes work with the Xbox One and can navigate the dash and live TV apps.

You can still use your Harmony to control your DirecTV box if you have it set up to control it, we'd never prevent you from IR controlling your other devices if you want to.

Thanks. I'm trying things out now.

I know there are ways to switch to control of each device as needed but with my wife things need to work like they did "before". So currently I can move around the dash and have the "list" command programmed for my Directv recorded stuff but once I hit "list" I cannot move around the menu as the directional keys are set up for Xbox control.

Is any else having an issue with the XBOX One defaulting to stereo everytime it is turned on? I have the surround sound beta box checked (don't exactly remember what is actually called) but it keeps defaulting to stereo instead of 5.1. I have to manually go in and change it everytime. It's not a big deal to do since it only takes a few seconds to change but is starting to get annoying.

So no matter how many times you check the "Surround Sound (Beta)", after a reboot it's unchecked? Are any other settings reset? Does Surround Sound stay enabled on your STB?

I will try to explain better: I have a Harmony Touch remote setup to turn everything on when we go to watch TV: the satellite box, XBOX One, Denon receiver and TV. WHat I have noticed that sometimes during the startup up of the devices sometimes the Directv box won't turn on (not an xbox problem, remote issue) but everything else does. When that happens, i get a stereo signal. Once I get the satellite to turn on, i have to go and change it to 5.1. The Surround Sound (Beta) box is always checked when I go to look at it. I have my xbox set to instant on mode. The settings are correct when I watch a blu ray or play a game though. I have been messing with this for a couple weeks and it seems like the issue only happens when the satellite box does not turn on.

Gotcha, so Surround Sound (beta) is always checked but you have to turn on 5.1 in:
                          1) DirecTV menus?
                          2) Xbox One audio settings (not TV & OneGuide settings)?

I'm assuming you mean the latter, and it probably has something to do with the order that devices turn on and when/if the Xbox receives EDID or Source Info Frame information from the attached devices.

                          Do I understand you correctly?

Correct. XBOX one audio settings is where i change it. I figured it had to do with XBOX one not getting a signal from the Directv box.

What if you choose to have your DirecTV box turned on by your Xbox and not your harmony, does that make a difference?

Either way, I'll follow up with a peer who will know more.

Question about the play/pause when on TV.

I have a Motorola Cox DVR box...doesn't seem like pause or any of those does anything...is that supposed to only pause live tv, or pause if I'm playing something back?
