Re: Owners of both PS4 and Xbox One: Pros and Cons

Isnt the only AAA exclusive game with 1080p/locked 60 fps on the X1? (Forza 5)... Driveclub, for example, is 30 fps.

Anyway, i agree that this debate is silly. The main priority should be the quality of the games.

        True. That's a ps3 game though.

With all of the talk about resolution and framerate, you would think that the ps4 would have a bunch of their exclusives running at 1080p/locked 60 fps.

I'd worry about getting Driveclub actually working online and available on PS+ like advertised at launch first... You make a good point though....

I don't know how many games that are currently out at the moment that has cross play (pc & console) but I play War Thunder on the PS4 with and against PC gamers daily. There's a myth that console gamers cannot compete against them. I can tell you that it's not true. However, if we were not locked in at 60 fps or enjoy the same resolution as PC does, yes it would be a disadvantage.

They're other games that have been announced on the PS4 that are going through growing coding pains so it can run properly on both console and PC. Those I heard were for PlanetSide 2, H1Z1, and Loadout. I'm not sure but I also believe War Frame is another cross game play. Planetside 2 is closest and is one of the featured exhibits in Decembers Vegas show.

Does Titanfall have cross play with PC gamers? Just wondering because I know the 360 is on a different server.

I agree and this was my main point and Not one multiplatform game is 60fps on the ps4 while 30fps so I didn't understand that argument at all.

Jeez.....im playing The Evil Within on 480p and yet, the game still looks damn good. Can't believe so many gamers care about resolution and frames per second as if either one would make a crappy game any less crappy.

I can't believe people are still hung up on this a year later. Everyone knows the PS4 is more powerful. The PS4's problem is that it was advertised as a gaming system above all else, and there are almost no exclusive games. The only game of consequence is The Last of Us, and thats a remake.

In my opinion, the most important factors in what platform you play on are exclusives, where your friends play(if you're more into multiplayer games), and online services in general. I think the XB1 is better in all those regards as of right now, but everyone needs to make their own decisions.

I agree but only to a point as it's all based on personal preference in regards to exclusives. I'm not going to name every one for both consoles but personally, I only cared about Knack (which I played and finished) and Ryse: Son of Rome (will be the first game I play when I buy an Xbox One). Played The Last of Us on PS3 and again on PS4 but only because it was a dead summer and The Evil Within was delayed from August 26th to October 14th. I have no interest in Killzone, Infamous, DriveClub, Forza, Sunset Overdrive or Halo: MCC so while in general, the exclusives are better for Xbox One, that doesn't mean that everyone is interested in those exclusives.

Come February, PS4 gets Bloodborne and The Order: 1886. Both are games im very interested in playing and will be pre-ordered and picked up on release day. So, for me, after that, it's 3-1 in favor of PS4. Ori and the Blind Forest will make it 3-2. Quantum Break, Rise of the Tomb Raider (timed exclusive) and Uncharted 4 will make it even at 4-4 but year's end of 2015. I'm sure that there will be other exclusives that get released in 2015 but im only using the games that are pretty much guaranteed to be released in 2015.

I only own a PS4 (but hope to have an Xbox One by year's end) and I try not to play favorites but everyone who says that Xbox One has more exclusives need to realize that not everyone has interest in those "more" exclusives. Quite honestly, if anything, there's more exclusives that I would much rather buy and play for Wii U than there is for PS4 and Xbox One combined. A year from now, that will change but as of right now, that's what it is for me personally.

Multi-player and the online aspect though is easily better on Xbox One. Has been since the original Xbox and until Sony seriously upgrades their servers and whatnot, I don't see this changing. However, with that said, im a single player gamer so that doesn't matter to me either way.

In the end, it's all about PERSONAL PREFERENCE.

I own both and just prefer the One, just like the system better, yes I do like the ones exclusives over what Sony has offered thus far. I'm a her Gears fan and me hearing there working on a new one makes me happy as hell.

Anyway I think both are great systems, I prefer the one .

Back to what I have been saying before.

Even if a game is listed as 30fps on both consoles, the PS4 will still run at a steadier framerate with less dips, due to its superior GPU.

This is not opinion, its a fact.

                            @ODogg

I buy all my games for the PS4 as well. I stopped buying for the XBOne, because most of the time the games run smoother on the PS4.

I have done side by side comparisons in my mancave/gameroom. I have two 43 inch TV's right next to each other on the wall, so those comparisons are easy to make.

The only games I play on the XBOne are exclusives, but they don't get much play. Forza, for example, is way to arcade for me, so I gave that one away. As someone who is a "weekend driver", I couldn't stand the arcade feel. Nice looking game, but that's about all it is.

[UPDATE] Performance analysis gives frame rate advantage to Xbox One for single-player campaign, while multiplayer mode holds at 60fps across both platforms.

If their going back to the roots and it's more like 1-3 I'm definitely going to be picking up the One. I absolutely love gears, I got tons of replay time out of 1-3, I'm talking 3 years plus on gears 3 alone. Now I want to go in the closet and dust off my 360.

Re: Owners of both PS4 and Xbox One: Pros and Cons

After about a year of owning both, I play my PS4 more because of its location in my house. However, I find the X Box One to have far superior exclusives. Titanfall and Forza Horizon 2 are both great games. Forza Horizon 2 is, to me, worth the price of owning the One. Horizon 2 beats the crap out of Driveclub. I can't think of a PS4 exclusive other than the Last of Us remake which is worth mentioning. So it sort of boggles my mind that anyone can say the PS4 is superior to the One considering it's all about games...and the One has much more to offer at this point. I honestly can't tell the difference in side by side screenshots of games in which the PS4 has higher resolutions.

I don't care which console comes out on top. I like them both, and I still like PS4's simpler interface. I like PS4's controller much more than the One's controller. Gears of War and Halo 5 should be epic, but The Order 1888 and the next Uncharted should also be AAA titles.

I'm fortunate to have both systems, and that's where my focus is. I feel blessed to have them both sitting in my house, especially considering a few years ago I was on the verge of getting food at a food bank to feed my kids.
