My guess is that Remote Play was optimized and refined for the hardware of the Vita and the PS TV is left to fend for itself with differing internals, since they both share the same version of firmware.

We're pushing 3 months since the last firmware update and the price of the PS TV has dropped 50% since May on Amazon...the PS TV may be now, performance-wise, as good as it ever gets.

I saw this was cheap. I guess it's not worth it as a PS4 remote play huh? That's all I would want it for.
Boy this habit is as bad as dope!!!

Not for that...the input lag is pretty much insufferable for any game that requires input based on timing or anything fast-moving. It doesn't matter if you hook it up via wired or wireless connection because not having the 60fps capabilities like the Vita really hamper the effectiveness of this as a remote play option.

However, it is recommended by many as a good device for playing Vita games (or at least the ones that support it) on your regular television.

This is $44 on Amazon Prime. What I gather from reading it sounds like if my primary purpose for getting this is to use it for streaming PS4 games, then it's still not worth it. Is that correct?

Correct. The Vita is far better than this with regard to response time, and I hear that Windows is getting Remote Play in the near future as well if you're trying to get it on a TV.

              Hey guys

At the moment I'm playing my new ps4 on our tv upstairs. It's just a simple lg lcd 37" which is fine for me nothing fancy. The wife is getting to the point where I think she just wants me to get a tv for downstairs to play the ps4 on,lol

I'm thinking something about the same size. Size isn't important to me as the qua,it's of the picture. If you guys would be able to recommend a decent tv that would be great. I hear guys talk about gaming monitors but am not quite sure what they are lol. As far as budget I don't really have one just going to start looking. Also I'm in Canada so the price will be different from you fellas in the states

I don't know if I'm asking in the right spot here, sorry if I may have taken away from the op. You guys are usually great about helping out so though I'd ask here first

^ No problem, but definitely not the right thread and you probably wouldn't get your question answered in this thread.

                Try this one:
