I've been playing The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past the past couple of nights.

Having played The Witcher 3 I have to say A Link to the Past is addicting. It's progression is wonderful as enemies who once caused anxiety are now easy rupees. This is mostly based on gaming skill as upgrades and special items are left to found by the wondering, exploring adventurer. As a result it shares many similarities with The Witcher 3 and both games I would equally consider classics.

I think it's a common fallacy to under appreciate the complexity and tight builds of these legacy games. Modern, younger gamers see the simplistic, pixel art graphics and automatically discount it as simple and easy.

A Link to the Past is legendary for good reason. Glad you're getting to play it and enjoy. I've never played through a game more times than I did with that one.

My hangup with the new console is the price. 300 is more than I am willing to pay for a console. I made that mistake with the 3DS and only enjoyed A Link Between Worlds. I waited forever for Paper Mario. No word on its expected release. Nothing on a new Metroid. Nothing on Castlevania. I tried the other more Japanese styled games like Fire Emblem and couldn't get into it.

I want Nintendo games. But 3DS failed me and I sold it. So far it's a slightly better story with the Switch because of Odyssey, Kart 8 and Zelda. But maybe when all 3 are out I'll see where what I decide.

This system and the business decisions behind it baffle me. This will be a bigger disaster than the Wii U.

That is to much for me to do because there are at least like 4 must have games on the wii u.

Re: Nintendo Switch Announced, Scheduled to Release March 2017

Usually I can overlook the price complaints. But man, I just can't understand the rational behind launching a system with just a few games. The Wii U has been wasting away for quite some time, with many of the complaints revolving around lack of games and third party support. So they respond by launching a new system that has fewer games at launch than any other modern system they have released?

They had so little to demo that they invited developers on stage to talk about how excited they are to eventually work on this system. Sorry, no demo. Hell, we haven't even written a line of code, but man, we're excited.

I really, really want this system to be successful, but the way they're handling this doesn't make me feel great. They should have been building up for something great. The ideas for something great are there, but the software execution is just uninspired.

Yep...what they did with the NES classic certainly was a foreshadowing.

I just need to know if any of our wii u digital games will be playable. If so, I'd bite. If not, I'll wait for Mario at least.

Side with no. Just like all the other consoles (and Nintendo's own poor digital history.)

Comparing - you have a combination of a far bigger library of over 700 games for both PS4/Xbox One, far better third party support, first and second party exclusives, third party games are like exclusives, far superior online capabilities, no gimmicks, better indie/psn/xbla games, 4K resolution upscaling, HDR, WCG and in the case of the Xbox One Slim - 4K Blu Ray playback. Hell, Switch doesn't even have an ETHERNET port. Come on. It's not even close even if you're the most diehard Nintendo fan.

And this is all without factoring in the pricing. Nintendo better hope, wish and pray that Scorpio gets delayed a year because if not, the holiday season will leave Nintendo behind.

I love how tons of people come on to say how they are not buying it, ok then don't buy it and move on!

If your still comparing Nintendo consoles to Sony and Microsoft 3 generations after they've clearly shown they are not competing with them then your the one that's losing not Nintendo. They will sell several millions of these systems along with several million games they developed and make a PROFIT in very short time doing so. That's called business, it's not Nintendos job to make you happy because their specs don't go toe to toe with other systems.

Nintendos games are down right fun and in many cases masterpieces every generation despite the "Specs" that's what games are supposed to be. I for one long decided to get a PS or XB for certain games and a Nintendo for its games, enjoy big N for what they are, masters of a nitch part of the gaming space that nobody else can compete in. AND JUST ENJOY PLAYING GAMES!!!!
