You can't compare Mario Kart to Forza (even Horizon, which falls more into the "cade" side of simcade.)

That being said, MK8 got old pretty fast. It's not a bad game, it's just more of the same that falls into the same traps the series has done forever.

MK8 is good, but I think Sonic All Star Racing Transformed is better even if it is older.

I'll agree that the Sonic Kart racing game is just as good as any of the MK games for me. Real fun (though I can't put it above/below Mario Kart. Both are good cart racers.)

I had tons of issues with the console and bashed it before the press conference when ubernoob reminded me that we don't buy Nintendo for 3rd party. Once I showed it to my kids they were in love with it. I caught their excitement and it was contagious. They have talked about Zelda, Splatoon, and Mario all weekend so now I'm really excited for it too.

The Sonic Kart racing game is really good but I think Modnation racers is also much better then any Mario kart game because the levels are more creative and you can make and down load other peoples tracks. It is like Mario kart only like 1000 times better but for some reason it didn't sale well.

If this is true I think Nintendo is making a big mistake as this could have been a big day 1 game to have and would give you something else on the switch on day 1 besides just a game in Zelda that is already a wii u game.

Yes. Me, who owns a Wii, WiiU and a grand total of about 7 different DS (across OG DS/DSXL/3DS/XL) is anti-Nintendo for saying that Nintendo's games haven't been masterpieces lately.

Cut the ignorant act. There are very real issues with this console. If they don't apply to you, they don't apply to you but you can't sit here and say "sweet, everything about this console is great for everyone." That's just plain wrong.

I was super hyped for the Switch and the reveal made me think it's just gonna be another failed console in their long string of them because they doubled down on dumb stuff.

I'll still be picking one up (not on launch as I'll be out of the country) because I don't want to miss out on games from some of my favorite franchises that aren't anywhere else though (Fire Emblem, SMT, Xenoblade, etc.)

I love how tons of people come on to say how they are not buying it, ok then don't buy it and move on!

When people quit carrying enough to comment /complain Nintendo really is done. This thread is filed with people who are Nintendo fans who want to support Nintendo but Nintendo is making such bad decisions they are finding it difficult, if not impossible, to do so.

If your still comparing Nintendo consoles to Sony and Microsoft 3 generations after they've clearly shown they are not competing with them then your the one that's losing not Nintendo.

Like it or not, at the $299 price point Nintendo *IS* directly competing with Sony and Microsoft.

They will sell several millions of these systems along with several million games they developed and make a PROFIT in very short time doing so. That's called business, it's not Nintendos job to make you happy because their specs don't go toe to toe with other systems.

People aren't really complaining about the specs. And making profit is not what launch is about, it's about getting a big as a user base as you can get installed....the profit comes later from software sales and licensing.

Nintendos games are down right fun and in many cases masterpieces every generation despite the "Specs" that's what games are supposed to be. I for one long decided to get a PS or XB for certain games and a Nintendo for its games, enjoy big N for what they are, masters of a nitch part of the gaming space that nobody else can compete in. AND JUST ENJOY PLAYING GAMES!!!!

Yes it is about the games. And actually that, more than anything, is what most people in this thread are complaining about. One legitimate Nintendo game at launch is utterly, laughably stupid.

I like Sony and Nintendo I didn't bash any one just now. I am really hoping the switch can do well because if it does wii u like numbers I think Nintendo is done making systems and I would hate to see that happen. I like that Nintendo is different and some of my favorite franchise like Zelda and DK are Nintendo franchises. In fact I would say Zelda and DK are like 2 of my top 5 favorite video game franchises. Also love the batman Arkham games and I used to play a lot of Tony hawk.
