Everything I've been reading up to launch has me more worried about the direction this system and Nintendo generation is looking like it's headed. The online service, Zelda season pass details, friend codes. Maybe my views are different because I've not been invested in a Nintendo platform for a couple generations?

The only thing that worries me is what they're going to start excluding from games to include as DLC.

Locking a hard difficulty behind a DLC season pass is cause for concern to me.

I like the approach for their online services, however. $20-25 for a year and a free monthly game rental? Not a bad deal to me. I would hope they have sales/discounts similar to PSN and XBL.

The only thing that worries me is what they're going to start excluding from games to include as DLC.

Nintendo was never going to go toe to toe with Sonys or microsofts tech past the gamecube...


The switch will have one of the most important things I wanted Nintendo to do with their own ips.


Make it so that a handheld game can then be played on a big screen. I always thought after playing an hr on a 3ds game that wouldn't it be cool to be able to "switch " from the handheld and just connect my game to the big screen.


Playing Mario sticker star I could only play so much of it on a small screen but really wanted that experience then transcended to the big screen.


Now with Zelda and with countless other games coming out ill be able to just simply go from handheld to big screen.


A lot of ppl are "on about" the fact that you play it as a console first then take it on the go...


I think its handheld first that you enjoy on the big screen after having "enough of it" on the small screen....

Sony and Microsoft created their gaming space as a welcome mat to third parties.


It is the successor to the 3ds and they should phase out the 3ds and should not cater to two hardwares. them being so dependent on their own ips for success shows that they should focus their games all on one system. a lot easy to do and digest for gamers.


The only issue is that the switch is NOT a handheld for the younger market. the "ds" is...


I can hope and pray for the things I want from Nintendo


They did however make my one wish come true.


Make a handheld that can then be EASILY put on a tv.


what worries me is the spreading out of their ips the most


On the wii U and 3ds we saw this


Ocarina of Time remake on 3ds(when I would have loved it on wiiU)




But now they are throwing in Mobile games URGH!


So what will happen now?


Say this is a scenario:
Fzero on 3ds
Kirby on Switch
Animal Crossing on Mobile


^that would INFERIOATE me


THOSE ips should all be on switch and REALLY concentrated full blown games not just "variants" of themselves like:
FZero Mario race
Kirby happy brush
Animal Crossing new desk


^IF you"get" what I'm saying...LOL

I really wish we could get Madden on this. Need an update to the Vita version. Being able to play on the go or even at home when wife and son are using the TV with PS4 is such a luxury.

It did witht eh Wii U and they have now completely done it so that you can now take it ON the go...


Madden should be on it


But I also feel EA should bring back EABiG and make nfl street nba street nhl street and fifa street

I'm definitely excited for Zelda. It looks great. It's available on Wii U though. Switch needs more at launch than just Zelda.

I cant name one developer outside the name "Nintendo" that is excited for this system.

This system will live or die based off of their Virtua Console only. If they release about 10x more games than they have now and support a much more wide variety of retro games then they will be successful.

This system will be a colossal failure.

I'm probably going to cancel my preorder tomorrow. I feel the exact same. I got caught up in the hype. I can't justify spending $400 for just Zelda.

This is where I'm at. Can't spend $400 for one game when there's so many other great games coming out that money could go towards.

I'm still holding on to my preorder just in case but will probably just sell it to a friend at cost or just return it if I don't end up wanting it.

Zelda does look nice but not a mind blowing game to make me pony up $400 to play.
