Re: Nintendo Switch Announced, Scheduled to Release March 2017
I hear you.
It's crazy what used Wii U's are going for in my area too.
My son no longer plays his at all. In fact, it's packed away and collecting dust in a storage room.
I'm thinking of getting a copy of Wind Waker HD and playing it myself. I've always enjoyed Zelda games.
And if I like WW, then I'm going to get BotW.
In some ways, I don't get why Nintendo didn't make this a Switch exclusive?
Are they throwing the angry, disgruntled Wii U owners a bone since they said it was supposed to be a launch title for the Wii U?
I kind of doubt that since Nintendo has never given a crap about its consumer base and will gouge their own kids eyes out for a quarter.
I think there are a few consumers on the fence who probably would have purchased a Switch if BotW was for Switch only. So I really don't get this (not complaining though as it would save me close to $400).
BotW has always been said to be a Wii U title. It's been delayed so it can't launch on switch too. Nintendo is awful but I don't think they are quite that awful. I myself like the Wii U like many others do. If botw wasn't happening on Wii U I'd probably tell Nintendo to F off forever.Comment

Re: Nintendo Switch Announced, Scheduled to Release March 2017
$299.99 (Console) + 59.99 (Game) + Tax (7.25%) = $380 in my area. So people are using their internet math and rounding up.
Sure the console isn't 400 but you need a game. The system doesn't come with Zelda and for a lot of people that's the one game they want to play at launch. So up front it is almost a $400 investment.Currently Playing:

Re: Nintendo Switch Announced, Scheduled to Release March 2017
While I understand that Switch needs more then just Zelda I find it funny when people say like 400 because it is not. The system cost 300 and so even after tax like 324 or something. So that is like 76 less then 400. You don't need a pro controller or any thing extra then just the switch to play. But I think I am the only one in the word that that had a wii u and wii and never owned a pro controller lol.
Console $300 + $30 Tax = $330
Zelda $60 + $6 Tax = $66
Total = $396
I did round up $4.Comment

Re: Nintendo Switch Announced, Scheduled to Release March 2017
I'm still excited for Switch and Zelda. Enough that I canceled my Horizon: Zero Dawn preorder. Was tough after seeing so many glowing reviews, but keeping it makes no sense right now. Have to remain strong on my personal quest to not build a backlog of games.Comment

Re: Nintendo Switch Announced, Scheduled to Release March 2017
This doesn't surprise me at all as it can go either way. I'm obviously leaning the other way. LOL. The problem is that both games launch within three days of each other and there's simply no way to play both at the same time so going with one over the other and then going to the other one later on makes sense.Comment

Re: Nintendo Switch Announced, Scheduled to Release March 2017
I think some people (okay, just Tomba) are over exaggerating here.
I hope you know what you're saying when you say Zelda will be Nintendos Skyrim/Witcher.
Witcher 3 (and it's DLC) is one of (if not the) most critically acclaimed games released in any recent memory, and one that has actually held up to the test of time for critics (looking at you games like Fallout 4).
Skyrim is what it is because it's so open and easy as a mod playground.
Zelda (and Nintendo games by any means) will never be #2.
They have to be pretty damned special to be in that category of #1 and if you can show me a good Nintendo game in the last 5 years or so like that then maybe you'd have an argument.
As for right now everything about Zelda looks like it will be a good game for Nintendo fans and fans of the Zelda series but zero reason to buy a Switch oover something else (let's not get into your asinine concept of the switch replacing a 3DS right now. This is a home console being marketed as something you can take with you, not vice versa.)
Hell, I'm a fan that's picking one up when I get back most likely (instead of just picking up Zelda on the WiiU) but if anyone asked me the answer would just be "get Horizon and a PS4 it's the much smarter choice right now and the safer bet in the long run."
Its funny cant say anything bad even about mlb the show as if i was to say something bad about it as an opinion its almost be considered politics talk...
Horizon doesnt interest me one bit after seeing Zelda.
Horizon has a horrible color palette(YES im THAT picky)
and the female protagonist doesnt interest me at all.
If they had a character creation Id actually prefer it and prob consider AFTER i played Zelda...
But to your point
I'm overexagggerating and justifying when i have both a ps4 pro and a xbox one sBrand New Tomba Slider sets ready for Next Gen Versions of NBA,Madden and Fifa Stay Tuned...Comment

Re: Nintendo Switch Announced, Scheduled to Release March 2017
I am really looking forward to Horizon it looks great and I figured it would get great reviews and it is. I do wish it was not so close to Zelda though. I am getting Horizon on day 1 but once it comes out I may not play any thing besides Zelda for months and I have a backlog of like 30 games already and I have like 10 games I want this year along lol.Comment

Re: Nintendo Switch Announced, Scheduled to Release March 2017
Link is a male character.
Link isn't developing as he doesn't even talk since he's a silent protagonist. He's literally the same in every Zelda game. He doesn't change. No progression. Doesn't evolve.
And Horizon looks way better than Zelda which while it looks great, it still looks like a cartoon due to the art style. Nintendo had a realistic Zelda game that showed Link fighting a scorpion in a room a few years back. They should really finish that game.
Horizon looks way more modern and realistic. I have no problem with either game visually as they both look great for what they are respectively but to say that Aloy is a stick figure? Sorry but no. If that was true, then every PS4/Xbox One game has the same problem.
To each their own though. While you're enjoying Zelda, I'll be enjoying Horizon.Comment

Re: Nintendo Switch Announced, Scheduled to Release March 2017
Yeah not like or being interested in a game or movie because a Character is a female is just silly. I don't care if a Character is a female or male as long as the Character is a good one and fits. I love Rey in star wars for example as she was a really good Character.Comment
