As for reviews, you mean critic reviews? Those are a joke. NO GAME EVER, past, present or future should ever be reviewed a 10/10 simply because NO GAME is perfect. I personally have never gone past a 9.5/10 for all the games that I have completed and going past a 9/10 is rare for me.

Back to critics, there are four franchises that get a pass no matter what. Mario, Zelda, GTA and MGS. This is a fact. GTA IV is the worst in the franchise yet it's the highest rated game of the franchise. MGS V is nowhere near the original MGS or MGS 3 yet it's the highest rated game in the franchise. They all get a pass with all the negatives in those franchises being completely ignored by those who love and defend those games. Those are the true fanboys.

Zelda's frame rate issues and the fact that the majority here who are playing the game are saying that it runs better on a handheld and can't even handle a solid 30FPS at 900P when docked tells me that the game is no way, shape or form a perfect 10. How can it be? After all, it already has a flaw which affects gameplay.

As for me, I'll be playing Zelda where as you don't want to play Horizon because of the lead character being a female which makes no sense to me. Have you played Tomb Raider or Rise of the Tomb Raider?

Bottom line is that im playing one now and the other in May. In other words, im playing both. Honestly, you should too simply because they're both great games. Perfect? Not even close. Great? Yes.

I want the debate to end but it wont ever.

I know we can all agree on one thing

We all have a love for sports games....

But no sports game ever made me want to keep play the way Zelda does.

A game is a game I guess and we game for fun and some sort of retreat.

Zelda and The Nintendo Switch have recaptured that for me in a better way than ps4 or xbox one have ever.

I'm not just justifying many of my friends are bat stir crazy over the system and consider Zelda to get better the more hrs you play

Currently clocked in at 20 hrs....

Both are good but after 40 hours, Aloy is the better character based on how both are portrayed in their respective games.

Quality wise, Nintendo has for the most part, always delivered. Zelda is an excellent game. It's the other stuff Nintendo has done or hasn't done depending on how you want to look at it is what the problem is.

Not fully optimizing Zelda to run at 30FPS in 900P docked is a problem. No online. No VC. Horrible launch lineup which if it wasn't for Zelda, the console would either A) be dead on arrival or B) delayed until Zelda was ready.

In this case, Zelda has been ready for months but the Switch, not so much. It's Nintendo rushing out the Switch before the end of their fiscal year is the problem because it led to the screen on the tablet getting scratched to the left joycon disconnecting to the console being once again underpowered, etc.

That's why people are complaining. Zelda is just being used as the focal point because it's the one and only game that truly stands out. As someone who wants to play Zelda on my 43 inch 4KTV, the reports saying that it runs better on the handheld as opposed to when it's docked is simply unacceptable and disappointing at least to me. Hopefully, Nintendo patches the frame rate issues by the time I play the game.

If you think the power of the console has anything to do with when they released it, you haven't been playing video games long.

They could have released this in 10 months and it would use lesser parts. It's what Nintendo does.

The only people I've seen complaining are people that don't own one, legitimately. I haven't seen anyone that owns one speak a single negative word about it, other than stuff we knew going in (ie: I wish the Virtual Console was available right now.) The frame rate issue is overblown as well, and that's coming from someone that plays PC games on a 144Hz monitor every day.

Re: Nintendo Switch Announced, Scheduled to Release March 2017

I have not had time to play the switch at all because of adult life but I have a question when it comes to BOTW and the talk about its FPS. So when playing on TV the game is 900p and 720 when not on TV and from what I have heard runs better not on TV. So I am wondering what if you set the switch to 720 instead of 1080p and played it at 720p on the TV. Would it then run better at 720p on TV?

Money has to do with when they released it. Even if Nintendo held the console, the specs would still be the same. That I know. But it doesn't change the fact that it's still disappointing that the console is having problems running Zelda when it's docked.

True. I just don't like reading that those who are playing Zelda on the handheld are having a smoother and better gameplay experience than if it's played when docked. The game is only 900P when docked and reading that the game has frame rate issues is concerning and disappointing because if Nintendo themselves can't get their own in-house games to run properly on their own console when docked, how are the third parties going to be able to especially when they would be technically developing their games for six consoles? Granted, im not expecting much if any true third party support but it's telling when Nintendo themselves can't get their own game to run at 30FPS despite being only 900P on their own hardware.

Still hoping they can and will patch the issue by the time I play the game though.

So I got my Switch today. Played about 6 hours of Zelda on my TV. I can remember one instance where frames dropped for less than two seconds. Overblown issue. The game is smooth as butter. Don't listen to complaints. Play it yourself.

The official Nintendo case is pretty good for travel. However, you'll probably be packing your AC adapter elsewhere.

This is anecdotal, and your mileage may vary, but I have yet to see a single slowdown when playing Zelda docked. Maybe it will happen later, but so far everything has been smooth.
