So I was playing my switch docked last night and it suddenly stopped putting out video through HDMI, even though it was still charging and the console wasn't asleep.

Have to send in my dock, AC cable, and HDMI cable for repair

Nintendo support was helpful on the phone and said to expect a 2 week turnaround time. Not too big a deal as I have been playing 90% handheld.

Picked up a 64 gig card today. I'll never fill it up, but who knows? It's good to be future-proof, I guess.

Joked that if we had a Switch my wife could play MC on the way to Disneyland....she was like "How much is it?" lol

May be keeping a better eye on these as I go forward.

I'd need 1 more controller to start, is it best to go Joy-Cons for most? How do they charge separately from the ones that you'd put back on the system?

I'd probably keep it lighter on cost to start and add on the bigger SD card and things as I go...

I can't recommend the Pro Controller enough. It's fantastic. Very similar to XB1 controller.

Eventually...I know I'd need at least 2 joycons to start...see more later as my son plays, but can see myself adding on the pro as well.

Keeping it a little cheaper until after we sell our house, but if I see a system available I wouldn't hesitate anymore

I think I finally wore down my wife talking about the Switch and then she bought into the system and wound up putting in a lot of work trying to track one down for me. She's played about 20 min. worth of games on the Switch with me, and I doubt she'll use it a lot, but she seems far less annoyed when I play the Switch compared with other systems I have, which I find interesting.

I think it will depend on how you want to use it. I take mine to work in my briefcase so I wanted a slim case.

I went with the Hori Tough Pouch (licensed by Nintendo)

It can carry 5 game cards, and allows me to bring my USB-C charing cable. It wouldn't fit a portable battery or the grip if you need that.

I've got this one. Picked it up at Target for 29 bucks. Came with screen protector, headphones, game holder, and guards for the joycons. It's got a Velcro strap that holds the Switch in place behind the game holder. I like it a lot.
