Yeah, just a couple people tweeting saying there is misinformation about it

Hope Sony sets it straight soon.

Yeah I’m gonna be pretty pissed if only 100 games are BC at launch.

I am confused on BC to. From the video it sounded like just 100 games thing but from the blog it sounds like maybe all games. This in important because in less you can just simple put in any single disk and play i don't really consider it real BC and also i want to be able to play multi-platform games like batman arkham knight even if it still plays the same. Games running better/looking better if you play them on ps5 is great but the main thing is i just want ever game to be able to play on ps5 from ps4.

Upgrade to more space is a big worry. The system is only 825 GB and after OS system and such that means you are only going to get like 700 or something that is nothing now days. Going to have to upgrade space pretty fast and from my understanding you can only use PCIe 4.0 SSD and only some of them that are not even out yet, and the ones that are like the closest to what you need right now cost a lot. I was looking and like 4.0 PcIe cost like $200 for like 1 TB, and like $400 for a 2TB. That is way to costly and i get that prices are going down but still.

The BC was also confusing to me and this is one area where it’s easily talked about to the average consumer and they somehow managed to screw it up. I don’t really care about playing ps4 games on it unless they are Improved. However if the top 100 games are ready day 1 with better whatever then that becomes cool.

I was expecting at min 1 TB storage so was surprised it was less then that. Even with the low number the 825 should be enough to get you buy till the spring of 21 I would think if your worried about prices. Still I think it would have been better just to make it 1TB and still have the option to add.

Yeah. I pretty much played all the PS4 games I wanted too. The games I would want to play again is the ones that are upgraded. I hope those 100 or so are more than just play as is. I hope they are boosted.

I think they are concerned about cheaper than Series X. While I wouldn't be surprised if Xbox is $600, I can see $500. Sony will look to be cheaper. While I doubted $400, I think matching Xbox price will be a bad idea.

I definitely see a Pro version coming out within 3-4 years

Hopefully Sony doesn't go radio silent again until next info drop. This was more for developers and investors. This was like the recent AMD digital event. Most wanted a full reveal, but felt like like sitting through a lecture. I do see a proper reveal in April. As long as games can run 4k 60 FPS, I'm good. After watching some other vids,.Sony is definitely going the more efficient route. Where Xbox might be more 'powerful', but Sony might be able to efficiently perform games better. The super fast SSD will change the way games are designed. Sony first party exclusives will truly take advantage of this. With most likely 700 GB SSD, that is kind a downer. But as before, modular installs should suffice. I never had an issue with storage space in any console since PS3. I typically delete games off the console when I'm done and just keep the saves files just in case. The 3D audio part is interesting. I just hope they allow for more wireless earphones. I don't like wearing headsets and don't want to deal with wired earphones.

The Backwards Compatibility part is a downer if it is just most of top 100. Hopefully it is more than just playing it in legacy mode. Does seem like Xbox has the win with Smart Delivery. It does seem like Sony will re-release popular PS4 titles as PS5 ports. Sony is more concerned with hardware and game sales than Xbox is. But for me, BC isn't a main priority. I already sold my consoles and games. Outside the major PS4 exclusives this year, there's only like 3-5 PS4 games I want to replay again unless there are remasters.

I can see another Wired article coming in April that goes over console form, controller, console features, then tidbits on game possibilities. But games are pretty much going to be late May to Early June

With MLB the Show going multi platform it would be humorous if it looked better on the XSX vs the PS5.

It seems like the SSD is more meant for Sony's first parties where as third parties will have to make decisions which to me, seems to be the opposite of what it should be. Sony's first parties are not in need of extra stuff over third parties.

BC wise, it doesn't affect me either way on either console as my backlog will be finished before I trade in my PS4 Pro which won't be until next year anyway. I do have a few PS4 exclusives that im looking forward to in 2021 so combined with my backlog, my PS4 Pro will be hanging around into 2021.

I wonder how long it will be before we start getting some game info and tech demos. Ps4 back in 2013 got that in feb. We are already like a month past that almost. If Sony doesn't show any of that in till around normal e3 time in June we would be getting that 4 months later then ps4 did. It would be nice to not have to wait in till then but i think we might.

Here's the bit about BC in the blog from today:

Lastly, we’re excited to confirm that the backwards compatibility features are working well. We recently took a look at the top 100 PS4 titles as ranked by play time, and we’re expecting almost all of them to be playable at launch on PS5. With more than 4000 games published on PS4, we will continue the testing process and expand backwards compatibility coverage over time.
I don't feel like it's that confusing - they're prioritizing the most played games for launch, and will be rolling out BC for more in the future.

Yeah, I already finished my backlog before I sold my PS4. I just hope those games are more than just play as is. I hope those games are PS5 enhanced outside of faster load times
I just hope they really expand the PSNow catalog though.

"Still tripping about this #PS5 SSD spec. Like, people don’t even know how big of a leap in terms of game design can be made, especially for 1st party that doesn’t have to design to lowest common denominator. By far the biggest leap in my career. Can’t wait."

I just finished the 52 minute tech video. When you hear it explained why the PS5 was built the way it is , it makes a ton of sense. I can't wait to get my hands on this thing.
