We also don't get updates on game sales has much has we do for consoles for some reason and so some of those game numbers are going to be a little bit higher now. Spider-man for example had sold 13.2 million by July 28th 2019. That is like 8 months of time. Horizon was at like 10 million like 13 months ago. Also the thing with exclusives is not that ever one is going to buy a ps4 for say spiderman or GOW, Uncharted 4 etc but 1 person might by it for spiderman another it may be because of GOW etc. So my point is more options the more likely some one is going to have something that makes them want that console over another one.

That is still a few months away and its hard to say how this will be in another like 1, 2 , 3 months etc. If it does come out but is like limited amounts at first i hope i can get it and pre orders don't start when i am like at work or something.

BC is nice because it saves me the space of having to have multiple systems plugged in. I already have like 7 systems or so plugged it and i would replay games more if time was not a factor lol. Yeah i don't want games rushed either but i think 3-4 years for a sequel is a solid amount and not a rush and less then 5. The online free thing on ps3 yeah that did help but still had a lot going ageist it. I would say the way xbox messed up things this gen is just has bad has Sony last gen, and last gen Sony messed up Sony still slightly out sold xbox this gen xbox gets out sold 2-1. So like Sony at there worst out sold xbox still slightly where xbox at there worst they get out sold 2-1.
I never tried to get 100% completion in games. In those games/campaigns, I usually just do the main story and move on to next game. But if I do play the game, I do extra. I replayed Arkham Knight last year,
I did all the side missions besides the Riddler's trophies. That is the closest I got to 100% completed
BC is important initially because we don't typically strong launch lineups. Besides Godfall and most likely Gran Tourismo, we don't have a real clue what will be released within first 2-3 months. Maybe Ratchet and Clank. But for most, that isn't enough. So they either wait or rely on whatever quality 3rd party game(that is most likely cross-gen) to hold them off until the bigger games come out. I initially :wanted to wait 6 month plus until lineup gets bigger. But if there is a few quality games at launch and BC, that can it down for a while.

Yeah I don't know why they don't update game sales as much. I was trying to find out some sports games sales and they just tell you the first week sales or initial records. Last I heard, Spiderman was at 15 million. But yes, those types of exclusives are important for options for each gamer. We are in the era where Co-OP/H2H and Esports are the rage. If those games have campaigns, it is usually just 3-7 hours on average. The Sony Exclusives are mostly Single Player experiences with the campaign as the primary experience. Those games selling 10+ million is a big deal and shows that there is a market for single player games. I always been an offline solo player, so those exclusives are important for me.

Just stumbled across this. I hope it's wrong. $1043.00 is a bit pricey.

Every generation forward will be a smaller and smaller jump forward in terms of graphics and gameplay. No way in hell will I be paying anything close to $1000 if true. I think that has to be a mistake.

There's another one from a Canada site claiming $559 CAD or $399 USA https://www.tomsguide.com/amp/news/p...mpression=true
I won't pay attention to those type of rumors until it's official. I don't see Price revealed until around June. I see Sony trying to hold out until Xbox reveals their price

I would love $400. But not sure if that might not be a possibility without taking a loss. Definitely not more than $500 and don't see them wanting Xbox to match price. But $449.99 just seems like a weird number. I think $450, but wouldn't be surprised with $500. If they can somehow get to $400 and just bank on recouping off of ecosystem and services, that would be a win for Sony and might see a similar 2:1 sales. But I really doubt $400

                  There’s a 0% chance the PS5 is anywhere close to $1000.

                    LMFAO.

PlayStation 5 will NOT retail for more than $500 and neither will Xbox Series X for that matter. Simply NOT going to happen. And if anything, PlayStation 5 is more likely to be $400 than $500.

I'm hoping for no more than $500.00 , but I'd pay up to $1000.00.
When the PS4 launched I didn't pre-order so the stores were all sold out. I ended up paying $575.00 for it on eBay. won't make that mistake this time.

I waited a year to get PS4. I originally wanted to wait a week to a month, but I know either have to get it at launch or wait until 6 months. But with BC, I feel more comfortable getting it at launch.
I haven't pre-ordered anything in a long while. But as soon as pre-orders become availahle, I will preorder asap. I have $450 saved up from selling older consoles. So good chance I don't have to spend much extra than that and with spending "old money"

Damn. I'm not going past $500 for either next gen console. I missed out on getting PS4 at launch because I didn't have the money at the time and had to wait 6 months or so which was fine because until Watch Dogs, there wasn't really anything for me to play that I couldn't play on Xbox 360/PlayStation 3.

For $1000, I would buy both consoles instead of overpaying for one but that's just me. I have my own personal limit of what im willing to pay for either console and that limit is $500. Anything higher which won't happen but let's say it does, I will wait for a price drop especially since I will have my PS4 until mid-2021 anyway.

I'll probably jump from ps3 to ps5 once my games really start getting outdated and the current games get ported over properly. We all know first year or so for MLB the show, nba 2k and all that probably won't be as good as the ones proceeding it.

I got ps3 when they brought in ps3 slim and dropped price to around 300 or however much it was.

How long from ps5 launch could it be until we see the first major price drop(and possible upgrade)?

I will pass on current gen sports games this year. But yeah typically outside of graphical leaps, launch sports games aren't that good. Hopefully that changes. But if NBA2k takes a 2k13-> 2k14 type leap graphically, I definitely might buy it.

Maybe the following Black Friday, but even then either a small $50 difference, or a bundle deal. I don't expect to a major drop for at least 2 years.

While I think they might go the Pro route again, but what would they target? It doesn't seem like this time around being bottlenecked by weak CPU, GPU, and slow hard drive. Even storage sizes isn't an issue because I'm sure after 2-3 years, those expansion cards will be more reasonable. I don't think 8k would be a true influence for at least 4-5 years and I do feel most games will be able to target 4k60.
