Re: New PlayStation 5 Details Revealed, Arrives Next Holiday Season
Lol....Those comments pretty much tells me that you haven't played VR yet. It's all good. I understand VR isn't for everyone but I do know that you are a serious gamer and like to immerse yourself into the game's world. Play RE Biohazard in 2D, then play it in 3D or take to the skies in Ace Combat 7 from both perspectives. The difference is not subtle but stark. You owe it yourself to check it out. Soon, we'll be moving to a second generation of VR headsets and it should be even more appealing as the tech continues to improve.Comment

Hahaha. No, I have not and have no interest in doing so to be honest. At soon to be 42, I know you can possibly get violently ill from that because of the motion and whatnot which im not going to do plus I just don't have the interest. Playing with a helmet on my head and wires everywhere just isn't for me.
Never say never and maybe when the sickness is 100% gone, wireless and just better, maybe I will try it but until then, it's simply not my thing. But for you and others that love it, I say play it to your heart's content.Comment

I would get nauseous after 5 minutes on certain games, and now hardly any.
There are also a few different movement setting in most games that you can switch to to help.
I also play with a floor fan blowing towards me. Doubt I need that any more but on room scale games it gives me an audio clue of where I'm facing in the real world
The experience with VR has been nothing but awesome for me (54 years old)
Just a different level of immersion.
Both my daughters and even my wife love it...
Hell my wife spent 1/2 hour just doing Google Earth when she first tried it lol
I've since redid my room to give me more space for the room scale games (I busted my butt on desk due to a zombie coming through wall...
And have a desk area set up for my flight and driving sims... which I've had the most fun doing in VR.
Project Cars and Assetto have been great.
You see all the instruments etc.. as if you were in the car and or cockpit. It's really damn cool.
Anyways I went on longer than expected as I just wanted to say the sickness will eventually go away after VR legs are achieved
I've already boxed away my VIVE and should finally have the INDEX in about a week. Yay!Last edited by Skyboxer; 08-04-2020, 11:57 AM.Joshua:

I thought today's state of play was pretty good. We got a few new ps5 game announcements and i was not expecting that at all thought we where only getting ps4 stuff. God fall i had zero interest in before today but now i am leading towards getting it has it does look kind of good. Pathless looks kind of cool. I now may have 8 games that have been shown for ps5 that i want.Comment

Godfall was pretty cringe, narrator overdid it on the 'talk to us like 5 year olds' and pretended like nobody's ever played an Assassin's Creed, God of War or Monster Hunter game.
Good thing it's my kind of game, looking forward to playing it.Comment

Re: New PlayStation 5 Details Revealed, Arrives Next Holiday Season
My favorite had to be Crash 4. It has the classic "Crash" feel which is important. Definitely think that'll be BC around launch of PS5
I do want to see the Teardown and UI/Software features. I feel there are tons of stuff we don't have a clue about and stuff that was talked in the Wired article a year ago that haven't talked much about since. I feel that once Price, Date, Preorders are available for both consoles, that everything will ramp up from there.Comment

Re: New PlayStation 5 Details Revealed, Arrives Next Holiday Season
Yeah i agree once we get those things we are likely to start getting game play videos for games like Spiderman mm, ratchet and clank etc and also some more written previews of the games. Yes crash 4 looks great and the feature that like changes how things looks is so cool.
I do feel the Price, Date, and Preorders are holding everything up. Once we know it, that's when they will start promoting the console and games. There's so much that we would have known way more about now. We're about 3 months away and so much we Don't know about. We know so little about the launch games, software features, tech demos. I don't think we leave the month without knowing price, Date, preorder. I see Sept and Oct being mainly about promoting consoles and more in depth gameplay vidsComment

Those inverted and different environments that affects how a level is played will add so much depth. Really like white environments and having to spin to paint the upcoming obstacles. Definitely will be one of the first games I play on PS5 .

Also, launch lineup. We know more third party multi-platform games available at launch than Microsoft/Sony will have as of now.Comment

Re: New PlayStation 5 Details Revealed, Arrives Next Holiday Season
Yeah, we have a better idea of what 3rd party games are releasing within a month or two of next gen launch. But with Sony/Microsoft, we just have idea of what 1st party games are releasing within first 12 months. But we don't know when. I do want to get an idea of how much I'm spendingComment

Agreed. As of right now, we know that Spider Man: Miles Morales and Halo Infinite are launch titles from Sony/Microsoft and both consoles will have several Indies and AA titles at launch. I'm expecting Gears Tactics and Flight Simulator 2020 being launch titles as well for Series X but for PlayStation 5, I honestly have no clue as to what else they could have for launch.
For 2021, I honestly think Microsoft and Xbox will be very quiet as the vast majority of their games are further out. I thought that Forza Motorsport would be a Fall 2021 title but now, im thinking more like Fall 2022. I also believe that a high amount of third party multi-platform games that are currently scheduled for 2021 will be pushed into 2022 due to not being able to get actors into the studios for motion capture and possibly even voice acting.
I do believe that Sony will have a strong 2021 lineup though as im expecting Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart in Spring, Demon's Souls Remake in late Spring/early Summer and Gran Turismo 7 in the Fall. I always expected Ratchet to be a launch title since believe that the game is very much done at this point but Spider Man is obviously massive compared to Ratchet and both are from Insomniac so it wouldn't make any sense to have two titles from the same development studio compete against each other.
If I had to guess what other potential launch title from Sony could end up being revealed would be Killzone 5 from Guerrilla's second team. But we'll see.
Multi-platform wise, barring any delays, launch looks stacked with AC Valhalla, WD Legion, Cyberpunk 2077, Outriders, The Avengers and COD 2020. Plus that doesn't include the timed exclusive games like The Medium for Xbox Series X or Godfall for PS5. Again, it's looking stacked and to be perfectly honest, Sony and Microsoft doesn't need to stack their launch lineups because third party titles will be the main focal point for the vast majority of gamers plus both have a top tier launch title in Spider Man: Miles Morales and Halo Infinite respectively.
We'll see what they both do though. We should (hopefully) know everything by September.Comment
