Black Myth looks amazing and is thus far the only game that looks next gen to me (unless you count Flight Simulator 2020) because it was all actual gameplay.

According to ZhugeEX, the dev team is around 30, looking to add at least 20 more and go from there. Game has been in development for over 2 years but is still at least 2+ years away.

Added it to my game list after watching the 13 minute trailer.

Black Myth looks amazing and is thus far the only game that looks next gen to me (unless you count Flight Simulator 2020) because it was all actual gameplay.

About black myth saw something a little bit ago about there are like 72 abilities you have in the game.

With the like ad thing for ps5 i would think release date and price have got to be shown soon but it really is crazy we are this close and still no price and release info in the first place. I mean there was what looks to be a leak of xbox sx control for November 6 meaning the console should be November 6. That would mean only about 2 and a half months away and i cant see ps5 being that much different when it comes to release date like no more then a week or 2.

Horizon 2 looked great but that was not actual gameplay. I want gameplay to be shown with someone actually controlling the character and playing the game as if I was playing it. Showing me CGI/cinematic or in-engine is NOT the same thing and for me personally, im tired of seeing all that crap. Show me gameplay or don't show the game.

Yep, 72 abilities. Will be a full paid game. No early access/beta garbage. They will be hiring 19 people this year and more next year. Everything in that demo looked better than any gameplay I have seen thus far for next gen and it's not even close.

Plus, the studio released a statement thanking everyone for their support and interest in the game which has gone over a few million views on YouTube. The studio said that they want everyone to "forget" they saw that trailer because they have a long ways to go and look to make the game even better.

The studio rep also said something you never see from a developer/publisher - the guy actually criticized the issues in the game with the low frame rate in that battle against multiple enemies at around the halfway mark and other technical issues throughout.

They had me after watching the trailer the first time. I have now seen it three times and they have my interest even more now because they know the faults and issues with the demo despite the majority of those watching not even realizing those issues and they actually say it. I already have insane respect for this small team and insane in Black Myth.

I saw a video some one made of Horizon FW playing it back in slow motion and you can see a very small amount of popping showing it is likely not all just GCI and parts like her climbing are clearly what the game will look like. Ratchet and clank is crazy impressive with all the going threw portals kind of thing and we also got that few minutes of game play and got to see more of the weapons and such.

Yeah. I don't see PS5 being $600. $500 is the max I think Sony wants to go. I still think both will match price for Series X and PS5. I think many people expecting/comfortable with $500. Anything more is still "too much" for the casual gamer especially in this pandemic. Anything less seems like a big loss for each company. I'm sure XSX BOM is more than PS5. I don't see either PS5 standard or XSX being $450 and less. I see Sony taking a loss on Digital PS5 because they could make up loss in digital sales and accessories. I still don't think a $50 difference is enough to sway those debating digital or standard. Meanwhile, i think Xbox would rather there be a more significant gap between between XSS and Digitial PS5 rather than between SX and PS5. I think they would be happy to at least match price and use the power card as a marketing tool. But I think XSS needs to be at least $100 cheaper than Digital PS5.

I think both shouldn't be as concerned to keep playing chicken. The later you wait, it feels like they want to launch it at a higher price($600) but fear that other will be $100 cheaper. I don't either would want to launch at $400 for base consoles because they would lose a lot. I feel that if one of them wants to release at $500, than just do it. The biggest fear is what, the other launches at $400? $400 seems like a big loss for both. But if you want to release at $500 and the other undercuts to $450, that won't make a difference. I'll use cell phones as an example. I'm looking for a new mid range cell phone. $50 difference wouldn't sway me from a higher phone . But once you get to a $100+ difference, that changes things.

Horizon 2 showed some in-engine stuff but I mean pure gameplay with the HUD on the screen, camera behind you and the user actually playing the game. Horizon 2 was all cinematic in how it was shot. It looks great but I wasn't impressed because they didn't show Aloy walking in the world, fighting machines, etc.

At E3 2015, they showed a story trailer for Horizon followed by an 8 minute or so gameplay trailer. Actual gameplay. That impressed me because I was able to see what I would be seeing as if I was playing the game.

Ratchet 2 looks great. Don't get me wrong, im day one for both. I'm just sick and tired of everything being shown but actual gameplay.

The studio rep part was earlier today or late last night since they're in China. I'm super hyped for that game. I'm more hyped for that game and Bright Memory Infinite (which is another Indie studio in China but made by ONE guy who now has a very small outsourcing team helping him finish up the game for Early 2021) than any Sony or Microsoft first party game because they've shown me more with less money, less resources, less people and less hoopla around it.

Xbox Series X is more expensive than the Xbox One X but yet, it's PlayStation 5 that is more expensive than Xbox Series X despite being at a disadvantage spec wise. Sony went all in on the SSD and that decision personally turned me off because that's not what I wanted because it's going to hurt all the multi-platform titles which is what the vast majority of gamers including myself will be playing throughout the generation.

I believe that if Microsoft announces $600, Sony will follow suit because that's what they want to sell the console at but if Sony comes out first and says $600, Microsoft will go with $500. It's a cat and mouse game.

The PlayStation 5 is actually at a higher manufacturing cost for Sony than Xbox Series X. Think about this - why do you think the SSD is only 825GB? Because if it was more, it would have jacked up the price more. Sony's SSD and cooling system is literally the most expensive components in the console plus they added liquid metal cooling which increases the price.

Your second paragraph hits it on the mark. I believe that either both consoles will be $600 or just PlayStation 5 Disc Edition. If Microsoft announces $600, Sony will follow suit and announce the same price but if Sony announces $600 first, Microsoft WILL undercut them at $500.

Microsoft remembers 2013 which is why I truly believe that they will wait until Sony announces their prices.

Even though Sony doesn't seem to be apart of GamesCom, i do expect more news reveals starting this week. With adverstising rolling out, news is imminent. Still so much to learn about with less than 3 months out besides just Price, Launch Date, and Pre-orders. Still need to know about PSNow & PS Plus, PlayStation store changes, Backwards Compatibility, Launch Window game dates, Teardown and Tech Demos, UI and Features. That's alot of info to learn about. Whereas with Xbox, outside of Price/Date/Preorder, all that is left is Series S and seeing actual gameplay being ran on Series X. I expect them to reveal Price, Date, and Pre-order info when they reveal Series S.

So it should be an interesting 2-3 weeks coming up. I feel a lot of publishers are holding out on next gen game info until Sony and Xbox reveal the Price, Date, and Pre-order. After that, I expect flood gates to open. Outside of GamesCom announcements, the major game announcements of the summer are seemingly over after the Suicide Squad and Gotham Knights reveals. So it is to be expected a ramp up in next gen news

While opening night of gamescom we now know that its going to be 38 games and 2 hours long with 18 different publishers has Geoff keighley said today. Now it will be interesting to see out of the 38 games how many of them are new and how many of them are just updates on already announced games. So yeah lots of news now will it be the kind of news I want or other people want? I dont know but lots of news.
