Re: New PlayStation 5 Details Revealed, Arrives Next Holiday Season
Fellas I’ve been out of the TV game for about 3 years. What I’m on now is a Samsung Q6F 55”. I’ve had it for 3 years and want to upgrade to maybe a 60-65 inch. Not looking for top of the line but a decent tv that will work with the upcoming PS5. Thanks in advance for any recommendations.

Re: New PlayStation 5 Details Revealed, Arrives Next Holiday Season
So I have an Optoma HD143X 1080p projector in our home theater/gaming room. Do you think the PS5 warrants dropping the cash for an upgrade to a 4K projector? I'm on the fence. My wife wants me to research it.The Last of Us is the Citizen Kane of video-games. It is better than every game that has ever come before it, and is the new benchmark for all games to follow. It is nothing short of a work of art.Comment

I still rock a 1080p plasma in my living room by choice, but I'll be playing on a 1440p monitor if/when I get a PS5 (could be until they do a Pro, or if they have enough first-party titles on PC I may skip this console generation completely and just play them that way).Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

Can't take advantage of loading times to use bathroom, look on phone, and eat anymore lol.Comment

Sony really needs to show off the faster load times in more detail in the coming weeks. I think we are going to look back and think how did we ever do it before where games would take a minute to load.Retro Redemption - Starting over with a oldschool PowerBone Offense

We all played N64, so we know what it's like to be loadless. Obviously not with the kinds of games that we'll be seeing, but we've seen it is all.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

Re: New PlayStation 5 Details Revealed, Arrives Next Holiday Season
Since Xbox officially announced Date, pre-order date, and price. I expect Sony to follow suit within next week. I do expect the Nov 13 date and as long as they don't go over $500 for base PS5, they are goodComment

If your Sony I think you have to match it with $500 for the disk version. This was the expected price so they shouldn't be caught off guard. You could be higher on the digital and it not be the end of the world.Retro Redemption - Starting over with a oldschool PowerBone Offense

Re: New PlayStation 5 Details Revealed, Arrives Next Holiday Season
I agree. I think they have to at least match it. I don't think it is likely that they would do a $449.99 price. $X49.99 is still not common for a console release. I think they almost have to take a loss on Digitial Edition to compete with Series S. If they give Series S a $150 cushion, that will sell like crazy. I see no scenario where PS5-DE is under $400. But a $100 difference is better than $150Comment

I would lose $ on the DE if I was Sony and match the price. In the casual kid type crowd $50 can make the difference on what system you buy. You also take away the momentum that xbox has gained the last few days.
I mean your going to get your $ back really quick when it comes to games. Since people are forced to buy from your online store.Retro Redemption - Starting over with a oldschool PowerBone Offense

Re: New PlayStation 5 Details Revealed, Arrives Next Holiday Season
Regardless of the price the PS5 will still sell like hotcakes just because of the Playstation brand much like people spending $1000+ for an iPhone and the Apple brand. It's all about branding and Microsoft to their credit, now gets it. In the EU, the Playstation brand is still the top dog. Sony can counter on the Playstation brand and its depth and wealth of 1st party exclusives.
Microsoft OTOH has gone with a more clever approach aka Rent to Buy and XBOX Series S or X. And now comes the news that EA Play is coming to Game Pass Ultimate so you can just buy an XBOX and get a crap load of games included and never really have to buy another game if you don't want too.
So it's basically Sony + Playstation Brand + 1st Party Exclusives vs Microsoft and their Rent to Buy and their all in one Netflix gaming services now that EA Play has been added.Comment
