Sony can counter on the Playstation brand and its depth and wealth of 1st party exclusives.

Microsoft OTOH has gone with a more clever approach aka Rent to Buy and XBOX Series S or X. And now comes the news that EA Play is coming to Game Pass Ultimate so you can just buy an XBOX and get a crap load of games included and never really have to buy another game if you don't want too.

So it's basically Sony + Playstation Brand + 1st Party Exclusives vs Microsoft and their Rent to Buy and their all in one Netflix gaming services now that EA Play has been added.

People are for reviews if it backs their argument, and against them when they don't.

Didn't the xbox1 x run and look better than the PS4 Pro or Switch last generation too?

I'm still going with the PS5 first. Then most likely PSVR2 next when it releases. Sorry about beating a dead horse but Microsoft pushing VR/AR away was a mistake. Those who want to call it a niche all you want go ahead, but you can't dismiss what VR/AR sales are projecting to grow for the new generation, especially with the technology improving. Covid caused supply issues with many of the headsets this fiscal year and the word is demand is high.

And it was supposed to play UHD discs, but do so piss-poorly. That was the main reason I purchased a One X. Unless Microsoft comes out with a must have 1st party game I will likely only purchase a PS5 this generation.

What is all the fuss about? I added a perk on his list of what each will offer. Am I lying?

It's all in fun guy. Nothing else. See, you and others believe its all about the power of the box, while I and others believe its all about the games.

Have the sizes of any next gen game been revealed. I’m scared given how small these SDDs are. I’d like to know how much an external, compatible SSD will cost.

At least with the SSDs, they don't have to duplicate data like they had to with HDDs. So that should save space. But we know some of these major AAA titles, like CoD, will push the boundaries.

But we can't forget about the modular installs. Sony hasn't really talked about that since the April 2019 Wired article. So if you play CoD and only play Multiplayer, you can choose to only install that portion.

Hopefully they'll teardown and divulge that info.

I don’t see the big deal of having the digital edition being $400. Sony is guaranteed to get 30% cut of all game sales with that. No used game market in the digital world.

No not yet and its something i worry about to. A 825 GB SSD is a joke and after OS and astro bot game game that comes on the system its likely we only get like 650 GB and even the 1 TB like ps4 is a joke for size and SSD cost a lot of money. I am hoping by like the end of 2021 that SSD will be a lot cheaper. I don't want to have to spend like 300-400 for like a 2 TB SSD. I know there is talk about games being smaller because of the tech but at the same time with higher textures and games always getting like bigger i am not sure how much smaller games will end up being. I would like to hear like how big spiderman mm or ratchet and clank rift apart will end up being.

It does suck. But the way how the SSD was designed, only other option was to double it(1.65TB). I do imagine SSDs being cheaper in late 2021/22. Once SSD becomes fully mainstream in the PC realm, the prices will drop. Even though there aren't going to be proprietary SSD expansions for PS5, I do imagine in a year or so we'll see plenty of options for SSDs designed specifically for PS5. I wouldn't even be surpised if Sony develops their own. A lot of money is to be made for extra storage.

It is a bummer that storage space could be a issue early on. But, I'm already accustomed to deleting games after I beat it when I had my PS4. I'm a person that when I'm done with the game, I'm done with it. I don't open replay games and when I do it is usually a couple years later. I'll keep the save files, and re download game again if I have to. If game download/installs are quicker along with modular installs, I'll be okay with deleting games to maintain space. I typically focus on one game at a time any way.

It’s easier if it’s only you on the system. With me and two kids, and all the loot shooters and other games they play, less than 1 GB is going to be brutal. If the system takes up 100 GB, plus they demand 50-100 GB free space for patches (stupid) and COD takes close to 200 GB on next gen it’s going to be turrible.

The 825GB SSD is definitely disappointing but at the same time, it's completely understandable as it's the most expensive component in the PlayStation 5 and that's before you factor in the cooling system and liquid metal cooling solution.

You guys will definitely need an external SSD for backup storage but I would assume that every PS5 game itself (like with Xbox), you'll need to play it off the internal SSD.

Lucky for me, PS5 is my exclusives only console and even when I buy it and have Miles and Ratchet, I will still have plenty of storage space because there will be nothing else on it. As I complete games and trade them in, they will be uninstalled so the 825GB SSD capacity will be more than enough.

Imagine those who buy the Series S with 512GB SSD capacity. And you guys thought that you were going to have issues. LOL.

Patch sizes should be smaller since they don't have to include the game file with the update like with HDD.
I wouldn't want to deal with Gamestop. So many stores are closing and they are desperate to find a way to stay afloat.
