I haven't seen the full context, but there's some embargo packaging going around online that says do not display or sell until November 6th, suggesting that is the Series X launch date.

I can definitely see that happening. I can see them wanting to launch console first. But, they would have to get Price and and Preorders available soon. I don't think it'll be wise to get to September and be 2 months out and still not reveal price and take pre-orders.

I get they are playing Chicken with Sony. But, unless you fear that the other company is going to set price of higher SKU at $400, I think both should be comfortable releasing the higher console SKU at $500. $600 is still taboo and $400 seems like too big of loss. I want both to launch at $500, $400 for Digital PS5, and $300 for Series S.

Re: Microsoft Reveals the New Xbox Series X, Arrives in Holiday 2020

Halo Infinite being delayed is disappointing but Xbox Series X now has their November 2021 title which if anything, is more important than launch because for launch, there's always hype, interest and people will buy them. Look at PS4/Xbox One. It was meh. Best game was Black Flag. Dead Rising 3 was good for what it was and Ryse looked great but it wasn't a better game than Black Flag. Both consoles sold over 1m at their respective launch. Xbox One sold for $500 with Kinect so Xbox Series X will go past 1m at launch.

Gears Tactics, Crossfire X, The Ascent, Second Extinction, Scorn and The Medium are better than the Xbox One launch was. Add in upgrades for Ori 2, Gears 5 and other games that people haven't played yet (Ori 2 for me) plus Game Pass and Backwards Compatibility and quite simply, Xbox Series X is way ahead of Xbox One without Halo.

Add in the third party games and compared to Xbox One, it's a slaughter in favor of Series X.

Friday November 6th, 2020 has been my release date prediction for a long time. Also, no one seemed to notice Destiny 2: Beyond Light being announced for November 10th, 2020 day one on Game Pass for Series X during the Games Showcase.

Im'really hoping this goes up for pre-order on Amazon soon so I can pre-order now and not have to pay till it ships. I did that with the PS4 So I assume it will be the same.

I'll be selling my PS4 and One X to put towards it. I literally have a PS4 for one game. The Show. And now that it will be on Xbox, I have no need for a Playstation.

Reason for this is MS still catering to the Fat Xbox one , The Xbox one S/Xbox one X. You have to move forward man and just start fresh with your next Gen console, HALO should have been just a XSX game and that all. I used to be one of the biggest MS fans out here, No more man, I don't have faith in Phil Spencer anymore, I think MS is indeed of a huge change bro. Just my 2 cents.

It's not ready, don't think it has anything to do with compatibility with prior consoles.

Neither of these consoles, the PS5 and XSX are ready for launch. I think a lot of the game development for launch titles got pushed back because of Covid 19. Supposedly, Spiderman the launch title for the PS5 is not entirely new as it's a tweaked version of the PS4 game.

A guy who writes about games for a living says the same thing, the PS5 and XSX are not ready for launch. There isn't really anything that pulls you in to buy them at launch. In 2021 might be a better time to buy.

I think both systems would benefit from a delay until spring however that's not going to happen.

We could be dealing with Covid-19 into next year, possibly even 2022 or permanently, so delaying does these two companies no good.

Neither console is "ready" or you & the writer believe there aren't any worthy launch titles? Not every console launch has a slew of day - one purchases to pick from. Usually the launch titles are mediocre, sparse or completely underwhelming, so I'll take the new console & whatever launch title I pick, now.

The Spiderman title was likely never going to be a full-fledge sequel & everyone is being forced to develop remotely (including annual releases like Madden, NBA 2K, FIFA, etc).

Just release this year, even with a limited amount of launch titles, grab the early adopters - who are yearning for newer, more powerful consoles like myself - & move from there. The current generation (which was underpowered when initially launched) will be going on 8 years (give or take) if they delay into next year.

You're aware that this isn't confirmed yet for 2021, correct? I don't think MS would have tweeted the way they did months ago if they didn't have plans to bring it to XBOX sooner rather than later, but there's still no guarantee The Show will be making the multiplatform leap in '21.

Well I thought the same thing, but was told in this very thread a ways back that it would be coming in 2021 by at least one person. So I guess I just figured it was.

I had mentioned something about how if it was coming in 21 I would sell my PS4 and someone said it is coming that it was announced. And like you, I didn't think it was confirmed either.

No. I'm sure that press release is 100% serious.

But show me where on that press release that it confirms an XBOX MLB The Show game is coming in '21.

2021 is simply the first year that it's possible under that new agreement. And that is all the info that has been officially released thus far. If someone's basing a console purchase on speculation that there will be an XBOX version next year, I simply feel like they should be aware of that.

If it happens, it happens. It'll definitely happen eventually, and maybe with Nintendo and PC too. But it's still an unknown for now in '21. That is all I'm saying.

All this is moot if MS undercuts Sony by 50 or 100...that's a ton of value if you consider the value of Game Pass too. I can't imagine MS being more expensive than Sony at least.

I can live with Halo getting delayed...I think the other benefits are worth it, and it's not like Sony's launch titles were amazing either. People tend to forget that launch titles usually suck anyways.

I agree with that. I mean the PS5 will pretty much sell itself but if Microsoft is undercutting the PS5 by $50-100 and throwing in 12 months of GPU, that's an easy decision. And GPU is Microsoft's big selling point going forward. They intend to make it the Netflix of Gaming.

When my subscription runs out next year, I plan to re-up. It's the best deal in gaming.

Re: Microsoft Reveals the New Xbox Series X, Arrives in Holiday 2020

Launch lineups have been completely screwed up because of COVID-19 and nothing can be done about that but in no way, shape or form do I want the consoles being delayed, especially the Xbox Series X. Hell no to that.

Everyone who's disappointed by Halo's delay should look at it this way, you would have been more disappointed at launch so be happy the game was delayed because it simply needed to be delayed.

Outside of 6-8 hour PS4 DLC expansion, PS5 doesn't have anything either and outside of a potential PS4 remaster, you're not getting anything else. Like always, it's all about the third party multi-platform games and barring a delay to all of them, there will be plenty of games to play.

Simply, I want my Xbox Series X so Halo or not, the console needs to release. Besides, im just about done with this generation and after 7 years, it's time to move on to next gen.
