Sony appears to have some available
Bonus for anyone ordering accessories here, if you have PlayStation plus you get free launch day shipping. I pulled the trigger on another controller, charging dock, media remote, and the headphones.

All this bot news I'm hearing lately has me thankful of the mess that was the ps5 preorder process, but damn i wanted to get a xbox series x too and with them putting a bullseye on there product for the 22nd I don't feel as confident that I wil get one.

So ironic Microsoft thought they were one-uping Sony with the whole announcement of the exact time and date but hopefully us regular customers are still able to get one before the bots clean house.

I have a feeling they will take a page from Sony and stagger pre-orders. Probably put more up later in the day or night, and maybe even as the next few days go by to throw off the bots.

If it helps Series X isn't really a focus in that community at the moment. This can change but these are the main areas of focus atm.

I filled out the application and you would think my PSN has enough history dating back to the PS3, having PS+ before it was ever mandatory, etc.

I knew I should have had my parents keep the receipt from my PS1 and Gameday 98 to prove my loyalty and get a pre-order 23 years later.

I'm actually really surprised that companies don't already require captcha for online purchases in 2020 because this isn't the first time something like this has happened. I can't even pay my water bill online (who hacks to pay someone's bills for them?) without selecting all the images with bicycles or crosswalks. I don't know what it would prevent because programmers find a way around a lot of obstacles out there, but it would probably help a little bit right?

It's a PR nightmare for Sony, but even they don't have the juice to get retailers to care enough to help prevent it from happening. At the end of the day Amazon, Wal-Mart, etc. just want the sale/money. It doesn't matter to them if some little kid is getting one for Christmas or not. It's not worth the hassle.

I'm just glad no one should really be pressed to have to go out paying double for it somewhere. There will be more eventually and it's not such a huge leap in technology that anyone will be hurting while they wait, but that still won't stop people from paying $800-900 for one on ebay.

Sony wanted to invite only those who do not buy alot to give them a chance to get one. You they already know will buy one

Speaking of headphones. USB headphones like Hyper X cloud will work on PS5, right?

I feel like my almost three years of collecting Funko Pops prepared me for this exact moment... well, that and a little luck... I had my Twitter notifications for the guy (DisFunko) who usually announces Funko pop drops set to on and he was tweeting PS5 links as they released so that didn't hurt either. Also, the TargetRed card (which I basically got for Pops) came in clutch, as well, since it saved $25 off of the disc version.

Best of luck to everyone still searching. Hopefully, you find one soon.

I know so many people who have owned every Sony console since the PS1 and none of us were ‘worthy’ enough for Sony to take our money. Then they bungle the pre-order process leaving many of us pissed off.
