I've felt this way for non-sports titles for years anyway. They are not time sensitive so, in most cases, it's fine to wait for a good price before buying.

Notable exceptions are games that were played online that I had some friends who were getting it at launch.

Yeah for non-sports games, I don't mind waiting. By the time it'll get on PS+/Gamepass, most of the updates will be out and you'll get the "best" experience. But, it's hard for me to wait on sports games to come to PS+/Gamepass. By the time that happens, its close to the time they start promoting the next game.

I can definitely see Ratchet going on PS+. I still believe that Insomniac is making a Rivet spin off game so if that ends up being true and they show it this year, putting Ratchet on PS+ would be a good move.

Kena was developed and published by Ember Lab so it all depends on if they want to accept a PS+ deal. If the game is still selling well for them, they may hold off. I bought Kena at launch and it was my 5th best game of 2021. It's 9th overall for the generation.

I agree in regards to wanting cross-gen to end and companies taking full advantage of the hardware. We're only two years in come this November so still a ways to go and the second half of the generation is usually better than the first half because of there no longer being cross-gen games.

Sports games though will probably be cross-gen longer which makes sense as they want bigger player bases.

Agree on Ratchet. For me on Kena, it's a matter of when, not if. I do think by the end of the year it'll be on there.

I think Sports games will go next gen exclusive 2024. We're on the normal time-line with the cross-gen Sports games. Next Gen is getting exclusive features, but Last gen is still getting enough resources devoted to it where it's holding back next gen.

We're still early enough in the generation, where we shouldn't complain about the cross-gen period, especially when consoles are still hard to come by. But we're starting to some publishers leave last gen behind so they aren't holding back their games. Like Gotham Knights, where I'm not sure how "next gen" it will be, but I'm glad to see them go the next gen only route. Even if it just because of Optimization issues with last gen. You don't want to run into the Cyberpunk 2077 issue where there were enough reports saying there were Optimization issues with last gen, but they already delayed the game a few times and released it. The game eventually got better, especially on current gen, but it's hard to recover from a bad launch.

There are a few last gen games I'm waiting to play in false hopes that it'll receive a next gen patch. Like early last year, Tomb Raider SoTR randomly dropped a next gen patch and didn't get much pub about it and the game played smoother and looked great. God of War did it and it made the experience better. I would like to see more publishers go back and do it as well. I would like to see The Batman Return to Arkham Trilogy get a next gen patch. I would love to play those games in 60fps and improved visual fidelity. Same with the Uncharted Collection. I'm waiting on replaying Arkham City. But at this point, I don't see it happening.

I would love to see the Arkham series in modern visuals, 60fps, RT. I just don't see it happening though. Return to Arkham was a remaster(1st 2 games) in 2016, Rocksteady hasn't been pumping out games since(besides Suicide Squad). But since Batman isn't in Suicide Squad or Gotham Knights, i don't see WB being done with Batman completely..

Those games still hold up very well. So, even it is just a next gen patch offers a dynamic 4k60 mode with faster loading would be great.

Do you guys think there is any chance that insomanic could have a game ready for PSVR 2 launch? I have heard rumors about a storm land remake/port. Also will PSVR 2 likely be 400? I really want price and release date for PSVR 2. I am still kind of iffy about PSVR 2 because seems like a lot of PSVR games are kind of like tech demos in that they are very short games. I am not saying that games need to be some big like 50-100 hour games but when you have a lot of games that are like 2-3 hours that is not great either if a lot of games where like 10-20 that would be great. Also really want to know if PSVR 2 will be able to play PSVR 1 games are not. I downloaded some free PSVR 1 games a while back when sony was giving them away for a short time just in case I got a vr at some point. I tried beat master on oculus for first time on 4th of July and thought it was awesome and now I kind of want a vr.

WB Montreal made Origins. Checking their history, they have a small list of developing games. Origins would be a great candidate for a remake for WB since it isn't a big scale game. I never played it, but I did watch a walk through.

It would be nice to get some type of update for those Batman games

Oh yeah I know Rocksteady didn't make Origins. It got a lot lower review score than the other 3 mostly because people said it was buggy. I never had issues with bugs my biggest issue with it is that its to similar to city almost fell more like it could have been a city dlc. Its still a great game though. Knight is my 3rd favorite game of all time. City is like my 5th and origins like 11. So yeah I love the franchise.

The overuse of the Batmobile and the repetitive battle sequences is the thing I didn't like about AK. But, I will say AK is one of the rare games I almost 100% completed. I don't try to platinum games. But, that's a game where only thing I didn't do was the riddler trophies. Arkham City was my favorite of the series. That's the one, I really want a full scale remake in.

I still wish for a MSG 3 and MSG 4 remake. I never played MSG 3, but MSG 4 would be perfect if it was modernization for the PS5. Having 4k textures/higher fidelity for the ground and surroundings compared to the low textured surroundings alone would make a huge difference. Imagine that game in 4k60, RT, 3D Audio, use of haptics/triggers, whew lol. Especially with the camouflaging that takes place.

There's always rumors concerning those Konami IPs. I get that they don't want to sell the IPs and obviously not confident enough to develop them themselves. But, at least license out the IPs to a developer who could make a great game out of it. Konami is sitting on some quality IPs that can sell well if handled by a quality studio. Those IPs are more useful than just to be used for Pachinko Machines lol.

I'm very choosy on buying games, but I would definitely buy a MSG 3 & 4 remake. Just like I'm sure many would buy Silent Hill or Castlevania game. So they could Konami could license it out and just stay hands off and just profit from it lol.

True in regards to moving on from last generation. Gotham Knights is a cross-gen game but they cancelled the last gen versions because they probably weren't worth the hassle to test and optimize.

Very good month if true. Definitely want to play Tony Hawk and always had a little interest in the Yakuza games, so I'll give it a try. Good past few months after a long uninteresting year for me as far as PS Plus games

Edit: those games are confirmed. Along with other Yakuza games headed to PS Plus later this year
