Just put a 2TB SSD in my PS5. The most nerve wrecking part was getting the cover off. I thought I was going to snap it in half.

      Re: PlayStation 5

I actually had no intention of buying a PS5 at all since I basically haven't played any video games since 2017 or 18 and didn't miss it.

That said, when the return of College Football was announced, I knew I'd have to get one by then.

With my ability to easily wait, there was no way I was paying over retail but the opportunity to get one fell to me a few weeks ago and I'm glad it did.

While what I'm really waiting for is CFB, I have great interest in eSports Boxing Club (if it ever releases!) and Texas Chainsaw Massacre. I'll also grab FIFA in a few months.

In the meantime, I'm enjoying The Show 22 and some free (with PS+ Premium) PS4 games I missed (ie RDR2) because they came out at or after the time when my gaming time and interest dipped.

        Re: PlayStation 5

I have only bought a 3 games since launch. I've got most of my time off of PS Plus Collection and some of the monthly PS Plus games. Now, I'm good off for the rest of the year with the PS Plus Extra games. Even God of War, I will most likely rent it or wait for a year or so for it to be on PS Plus Extra

I do feel that 2023 will be the start of a consistent rollout of quality games.

I don't regret buying the PS5 but since the transition away from cross-gen titles is much slower this go aroune there's really not a "need" to get a PS5 if you're happy with your PS4 (Pro).

A PS5 is out there somewhere in my future, but I'm still perfectly content with the PS4 Pro.

I agree with this. Especially if you don't have a TV to fully take advantage of the next gen benefits over last gen. I don't, I can get one but it doesn't make sense for me to get a better TV until next year when I will have more time.

I wouldn't say someone has missed out so far. Most of these games have ended up on PS Plus anyway. I expect Ratchet and Clank to be on PS+ within next couple months. But, I do think next year we'll start seeing less cross gen games. God of War is last known cross-gen game. So, I think we'll start seeing more next gen only games. But, I think Sports games will stay cross gen until 2024

Despite several games being cross-gen, there's no way I would trade what my PS5 offers me or want to stay with PS4 Pro while sacrificing 60FPS, insanely fast load times and Ray Tracing along with better overall visuals, image quality and detail. Just no way.

I'm happy with my PS5 and best of all, they've given me 5 exclusives by 2022 ends, 7 if I count third party exclusives FF7R and Kena.

I also expect Kena to end up on PS Plus Extra to go along with Ratchet and Clank within next couple months as well.
Even with a basic-ish 4k60 TV, I can definitely tell the difference visually and performance wise. My thing is I'm looking forward to more games starting next year that more advantage of the hardware other than just visually and performance wise. I want to see that 'generational leap', especially in sports games. Sports games have been a disappointment overall the past q generations.

Kena is the type of game where I've not pulled the trigger on it for $30. Because it seems like the type of game which will show up eventually.

It feels like most of the PS exclusives will end up on PS Plus Extra within 12-18 months. So, it's all about being patient. I'm definitely waiting on Kena and Ratchet and Clank to end up on PS Plus. But there's a ton of games I recently added to my library that I had no intention of playing. Just because it was available and it'll be on my backlog

Hey Fellas!! I JUST GOT DONE ORDERING my Ps5 from Playstation Direct.

If you still want/need a PS5 I HIGHLY recommend to be in their que/invite.

When I first got into que it said "more then an hour wait", after about 5 minutes it went down to 23 minute wait, 5 minutes later 13, then 8, 2, and IN!! ACTUAL wait time was about 25-30 minutes!!

They didn't have the one with just the disc version so I bought the bundle. Can't wait to try it out.

I've felt this way for non-sports titles for years anyway. They are not time sensitive so, in most cases, it's fine to wait for a good price before buying.

Notable exceptions are games that were played online that I had some friends who were getting it at launch.

I can definitely see Ratchet going on PS+. I still believe that Insomniac is making a Rivet spin off game so if that ends up being true and they show it this year, putting Ratchet on PS+ would be a good move.

Kena was developed and published by Ember Lab so it all depends on if they want to accept a PS+ deal. If the game is still selling well for them, they may hold off. I bought Kena at launch and it was my 5th best game of 2021. It's 9th overall for the generation.

I agree in regards to wanting cross-gen to end and companies taking full advantage of the hardware. We're only two years in come this November so still a ways to go and the second half of the generation is usually better than the first half because of there no longer being cross-gen games.

Sports games though will probably be cross-gen longer which makes sense as they want bigger player bases.

I played the first hour or so of stray and I like it. It's going to be a fun change of pace type of game. Its suppose to be a pretty easy platinum to get minus this one annoying chase trophy at the beginning. If your look for a game your kids or wife might enjoy that normall don't play games then it would be a good option.
