To hearing from a first-person source, is there a specific 2.1 HDMI cable that is recommended if you have a 2.1 capable TV/monitor?

 Re: PlayStation 5

This is going back a few weeks and a page but I've been using a Vizio with my PS5 for over a year and I feel like I have a great picture. It's an older model Vizio though, I bought it in early 2016. Some of the apps don't work anymore but (knock on wood) it's been a great TV, hasn't given me any problems.NCAA: Kentucky Wildcats

 Re: PlayStation 5

I have the equivalent model from the previous year, and it has been great for the price.

I kinda regret not going with the U8H now for HDMI 2.1. There are plenty of games where I would really love having VRR, but I play more on PC these days, so it's not a huge deal.

The HDR really packs a punch compared to other sets in that price range too. Bright scenes and light sources can be searingly bright at times, it's awesome.
It came down to the U8H and LG C2. I decided to throw down some extra money and get the C2. At some point I may end up getting the U8H for my son. I like what I've seen and read about it as far as gaming goes."Dunks are tough, but when a 35 footer come rainin out the sky...it'll wire you up"Comment

Anyone using a 55 inch 4k TV for their PS5? How close do you find you have to sit to actually get the benefit of the 4k?Comment

 Re: PlayStation 5

I purchased this TV for gaming with my PS5, I love it. I came from a older TCL TV and I can tell a drastic difference. 120 Hz mode and VRR are well done for the price point.Last edited by moose1619; 05-11-2023, 03:30 PM.I can do all things in Christ who strengthens me!

 Re: PlayStation 5

I wouldn't necessarily say that is true. I've seen all of those diagrams online before saying "Here is the size/distance you need to tell the difference," and they've all been way off in my estimation.

Besides, 4K televisions also tend to feature all of the newer technology which you can take advantage of, including HDR. They are the mainstream sets now and you don't need to pay a pretty penny to get them.

 Do I own a 4K TV? No, not for gaming at least. I have a 1440p 21:9 PC monitor and my main television set is my 1080p Sammy plasma from 2012.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

 Re: PlayStation 5

Never gaming on a PC and never sitting closer than 10 feet away from a TV. Most viewing is probably 12-15 feet really. In order to take advantage of 4k for gaming at least would require a PS5 which I currently do not own. Rather not upgrade to 4k unless I would buy at minimum the Hisense 8 series unit. Like $650 now for a 55"? I've seen the seating charts find it hard to believe you need to sit 5 feet away to see 4k on a 55" set. I dunno.I wouldn't necessarily say that is true.
