Re: PlayStation 5
Was just thinking Horizon zero dawn came out Feb of 2017 and it's story dlc came out about 9 months later in November. Maybe we will get story dlc for forbidden west in November of this year to. That would be something else for maybe back half of 2022 has right now first half of 2022 is loaded with first party stuff and multiplatform stuff to but back half we don't know so much about yet. Likely VR will be back half of 2022 but even if it is we don't have a date for it yet or a price or games yet other than the horizon call of the mountain thing. Than you have stuff that could be likely like fractions 2 and ratchet and clank collection or spin of game of rivit. I think after GT7 like a week or so after we will get GOW release date announced and also a VR news. Than like September or something spiderman 2 gameplay and a little more of a idea of what is to come in 2023.Comment

Re: PlayStation 5
We are up and running!
First game I play is a PS4 import, haha, but I had to see how MLB The Show 20 performed as I'd heard there was a big difference from the PS4. And yes, there is. The movement is so smooth! Graphics are a step up as well. Definitely have to re-adjust my timing batting and that's a good thing. Really looking forward to MLB 22 and playing it on the PS5.
I have also checked out NBA 2K22 for a bit (bought it as it was on sale for All-Star Weekend) and so far, really enjoying it. Again, the frame rate and fluidity of movement are the things that stand out to me as biggest differences from the previous generation.
Going to wait until the weekend to get Horizon so I can really dive into it without distraction.Currently Playing:

Re: PlayStation 5
Surprised no one posted this yet. Still no price or release date though.

Unrelated, expanded PS+ successor speculated details:
[E]ssential 10$: Ps Plus
Extra 13$: Downloadable Content with over 300 Games
Premium 16$: Streaming, Game Trials for new Games and Classic Games.
According to the journalist, Spartacus will be comprised of three tiers priced at up to $16 a month.
"Right now they are called 'essential', 'extra' and 'premium'," Grubb claimed. "The pricing, again could be a placeholder, but the pricing is $10 a month for essential, $13 a month for extra and $16 a month for premium."
"For premium, $16 a month… do you get full games? Not really, kinda… it's like EA Play. You get full game trials. I don't know if that's for every single game that comes out, but it seems like that."
Grubb continued: "You also get classic games and streaming, none of the other tiers will have cloud streaming, you also get classic games."
He then expanded: "I don't know what classic games means, but I do know that it's a major part of this premium tier.
"For the extra tier, you get a 'downloadable game catalogue'" which Grubb has heard includes over "250, 300 games, something like that."
Then again considering my activity level on the ecosystem, I'd get a lot out of EA Access-style trials. My most played game is probably Spider-Man, and I think my last session only recently put me past 10-12 hours. The trials on EA's earlier sub (I pay for premium now - inexpensive, for a lot more benefits) saved me a lot. I started only buying games once I got through the 10 hour evaluation.
I'll be surprised if the current PS5 game collection doesn't go away or at least is folded into something like the Premium tier to increase the value of these offerings (worth it, would keep me subbed as long as I'm actively playing and hadn't already claimed them).Comment

Re: PlayStation 5
Grubb later confirmed that he was just speculating. I'm sticking with my $10/$15/$20 price predictions for the three tiers which I do believe will happen. I'm just hoping for Sony to either put their PS5 games on the higher tier day one or at the very least get third party games day one. If there's no day one games, there's literally no benefit or value whatsoever for me personally.
There are rumors of a PlayStation Showcase happening in late March and according to rumors from Tom Henderson, it sounds really good. This is where the new subscription service would be announced and should see a new trailer for Hogwarts Legacy.Comment

Re: PlayStation 5
For me, it depends on what the "classic games" are. I don't see a case where they do day one releases, maybe 3rd party. Sony values sales. When most of the AAA exclusives can sell 10-15M+, I can get why they don't want to pass up the revenue. I would like the "classic games" to be the PS1-PS4 classic games. If they could give access to most of the classic games, it would interest me. The main reason why I got the first year of PS Plus for the PS5 was the PS Plus Collection. I don't play online. The PS Plus Collection made it worthwhile and there's still a few games I haven't played yet. I just wished they added a game here or there. For me, after the first few months of the PS Plus monthly games, there hasn't been many games that has interested me in the past year. If the Premium tier has most of the classic PS1-PS4 titles plus certain 3rd party titles, I would be interested in that
I'm not interested in Game Trials. For one, I never really needed a "trial" to know if I wanted a game. Plus, I don't like the format where the timer starts when you hit download. Thankfully I do have fast internet and downloads. But, essentially you have to plan out time when you can download it and play it. I don't really have that luxury. Maybe if it was something where the timer didn't start until you first pressed start, I would be interested.Comment

I don't see Sony putting their exclusives day one until next generation. While I have no interest in the older games on either platform, Microsoft gives you free BC where as Sony looks to lock it all behind a paywall. I saw someone on Twitter make a better comparison to where Spartacus isn't a Game Pass competitor but more like a competitor to Nintendo Online since their classics are locked behind a paywall and you can't buy them individually which makes zero sense considering that would make Nintendo a crap load of free money.
I don't play online either but I agree, the PS Plus Collection is great especially if you didn't already play/complete those games. I agree with you regarding the Game Trials. Instead, they should just have demos that have no time limit and is like a stage/chapter/whatever so people can get an idea of how the game is.
We'll just have to wait and see what it actually ends up being.Comment
