Managed to snag a PS5 through PS direct yesterday. Should have it sometime next week. Excited to have upgraded hardware to play my PS4 games on lol.

They're getting easier to get. Some people joined the Direct relatively late and there were still consoles available. Best Buys and other stores had local inventory for much of the day yesterday as well (you should check often, filtering by same-day pickup, etc).

Resale down to $600 or less in most cases so bots/scalpers are moving on for the most part.

I got this bundle and a second controller as well.

I wasn't even going to get the new generation of consoles until I heard college football was coming back. Since I was alerted by a friend that I could grab one at retail price, I figured why not.

I'm looking forward to that game, ESBC and Texas Chainsaw Massacre but I have no idea what I'll play until they release. I'm sure I'll buy The Show immediately and the new FIFA in a few months.

I have not played anything on my PS4 in a few years so I'm way out of the loop on console gaming.

All of that said, is there anything I need to know about the PS5, PS+ or new gen console gaming in general? My console arrives tomorrow so any tips would be appreciated.

Yes. And the prices will come up delayed too, if they come up at all. Usually I just give up after a while.

Very fast shipping too got it today.

Added the upgraded psn option quite a few games offered I’m interested in.

My download speeds seem much slower than they were on ps4, even with a wired connection. Anyone else?

Mine are too. It was slow like the old days through Wi-Fi but once I dug a wire out (and made sure to switch to a Wired Connection in the Settings) it was really fast. Of course, having Fiber these days helps.

It's ok. For the price I bought it at ($99), it serves its purpose well. If you're looking into it further, check GamesRadar's Recent List.

I’ve had it for a couple months it’s great. The 3D audio is great for movies and shows as well. Peaky Blinders sounded very good.

I see the leaked PS Plus Essential July games are Crash Bandicoot 4, Dark Pictures: Man of Medan, and Arcadegeddon. I'm definitely interested in Crash Bandicoot 4. That's a game, I was waiting for it to come on Ps Plus to play.

I wouldn't be surprised if within couple months Ratchet and Clank ends up on their as well. Which makes me want to continue to stay patient with certain games. It seems like if you're willing to wait 12-16 months, most of those big games will be on PS Plus
