Not sure I would be interested in a potential PS5 Pro. Only reason I got the PS4 Pro was as a gift from my wife after my PS4 had the eject issue. But, I had no eject issue, I would have been okay without having the Pro for just 2 years. I'm guessing the main benefits of a PS5 Pro would be power and performance. Where there probably wouldn't have a need for a Quality or Performance settting. Where there could be a native 4k60 w/ RT option. And the Pro could handle even heavier CPU intensive sequences. But, unless it is head and shoulders above the base PS5, I'd stick with the base

Re: PlayStation 5
I'm not sure I could justify re-buying the consoles I already have, let alone upgrading either of them, played more via cloud from PS Now and Xbox Game Streaming than I have off the actual consoles over the past several weeks. Will come down to the value proposition once the next options become available.Comment

Re: PlayStation 5
Also keep in mind how many people out there would still kill for the chance to stick with a PS5 in the first place lol. They're seriously gonna put out the next iteration while we still have a shortage of the original, and it's not going to get better by 2023/2024. Of course influencers and game media will get there consoles no prob. By I digress.Comment

Re: PlayStation 5
PS5 Pro coming soon to me at least seems unlikely. They don't have stock for the normal PS5 as the chip shortage doesn't seem to be going away anytime soon. They haven't even been able to scratch the surface of what the base PS5 can really do outside of a few titles as they're still firmly hitched to needing cross gen titles. PSVR2 can't even get a firm release date and we're already talking about a PS5 pro.
Edit: I also vaguely remember a "leak" in 2021 saying PS5 Pro was def coming out in 2022.Last edited by jrnlgrn; 05-26-2022, 06:08 PM."Listen son, you only have enough runs when you’re showering after a win."Comment

Re: PlayStation 5
I don't see a pro happing. I think the only reason we got pro on ps4 was because of 4k and 8k is to far off for even a pro. Also with the chip issues more people are having to wait longer to get a ps5 meaning they may not want to upgrade so fast and also with the chip issues can they even like make enough regular ps5's. Now if because of chip issues this gen goes longer than normal say ps6 2030 or something instead of 2026-27 than I could see a ps5 pro out in 2025.Comment

Re: PlayStation 5
Idk, I doubt Sony cares that people can't get a PS5. As far as they're concerned they manufactured consoles and those consoles sold out, and past that who cares. I'm not saying that's healthy or smart, but I could see them powering through and dropping another console before people can even buy this gen. Microsoft too.Comment

It's hard though...especially when I got my neighbor playing their franchise across the street...maybe I will occupy myself with Glamore Magazine.Comment

Re: PlayStation 5
I do usually like this time of year. It's going to be a busy next 2-3 weeks in gaming news with The State of Play, Summer Gamefest, Netflix, Tribeca, Xbox/Bethesda. No E3 or EA Play Live, so I expect other publishers to jump on to the upcoming slate of events or find their own spotlight for it. Then we'll have the Gamescon, bigger future based Sony event, DC Fandome later this summerComment

Re: PlayStation 5
The "leaked" June PS Plus games seems to be God of War, Nickelodeon All Star Brawl, and Naruto.
Since GoW has been available on PS Plus Collection since day 1, that seems to only benefit PS4 owners who has yet to buy/play the game.Comment

I signed up in February 2021. I got my invite last week and received it a few days later. I registered with my PSN email which is used for gaming and stuff. I don't always check it every day. I could have missed the invite so keep checking.Steelers, Penguins, Penn State, Pirates, Red Sox, Manchester United.Comment
