Damn that looks nice. Those are third party right ? Those aren’t a Sony product.

Outstanding. I’ve got the red preordered at GameStop but they haven’t gotten theirs in yet.

The black is cool a lot better than the white. I have a costume spiderman skin on mine that I made with a photo from spiderman 2018 game from a photo I took in game and also a photo I found online.

            Re: PlayStation 5

Pretty frustrated, leaning towards exiting this platform early again for a second gen in a row.

Created accounts for my boys yesterday. Quick, easy, cool.

Today I go to login. First one logs in fine, select a profile name and a profile avatar. Kind of odd that I had to answer some questions about privacy that I had set on the parental control side as family manager, but whatever I don't think much of it.

When I go to login my other boy and stuff goes way sideways. Password doesn't work. So I type it again. Doesn't work, says if there's a problem to check my email.

Email says 'thanks for requesting a password reset'. Ok... I didn't request a password reset, but lets reset it. I reset it, and I get an email to his address saying his password is reset, as well as an email saying my password has been reset for my primary account and all linked accounts. That's the first big wtf. I chalk that up to just poor communication / email templates and move on, but not before confirming my existing password for my primary account works fine.

So now back to the console, now that I have changed the password, lets log in... I enter the password and it tells me this account I created yesterday and then had to reset the password on has been permanently banned for violations of the terms of service.

I've got a lot on my plate today, so I'm done dealing with it for now but I'm just kind of beside myself with how poor this experience has been for such a basic thing like a child account.

Naturally there's no email about being banned. Chat with Sony setup an escalation that they'll review within 24 to 48 hours.

I randomly got a password reset for the account this morning, so appears to be resolved. Will deal with it in a few days, frustrated and couldn't care less about it right now.

I've since learned it has the most unfriendly family setup also, no sharing of PS+ benefits, etc. We'll see if the kids even want to play what few games we do actually own.

With hundreds of games on Xbox, their Chromebooks and soon a PC or two available to them, it may not make any sense to go down this path at all if every game each of them wants to play would need to be purchased and/or they'd need their own PS+ subscription.

The more I read the more I am disappointed how half-hearted this implementation of family/child accounts is, so we'll see what the end result is later in the week.

It's listed at $45. Is it a set of two for top/bottom or is it just a single plate? Thanks.

                      It’s a joke.

I don’t know if this has changed, but our original PS5 failed so I had to ship it back. On the phone with support they were walking me through how the process was going work. They recommended that I backup everyone’s saves. I started doing that, but noticed that you couldn’t use a flash drive and online saves were only available to the plus subscriber. I mentioned this and the rep said that the other accounts will need to plus memberships to backup their saves. I said, “But they are 9. It’s overkill. I just want to backup their saves so they can continue when we get a unit back.” Nope, no help. Just recommended a one month purchase for both instead of the year.

It’s the little things in a product and customer service experience that can make a difference. After this, we just started playing on the other console more. Family features just make more sense.

                          Re: PlayStation 5

I'm not sure about all of the PS+ benefits but my kids have my PS4 Pro in their playroom and I have a PS5. They can play any game that I own on it including any game that I get for free via PS+.

I do have my main account tied to their PS4 though and what I will do is go to the store and download the game from my library and then I can switch to their account and it works. One thing I have done that may be different is set up their accounts by creating two dummy e-mail accounts and sending family add requests through the PlayStation website. Then I've accepted them and created them an account. The other day I was playing MLBTS online and they were playing Rocket League at the same time.. maybe they were playing RL in offline mode? I don't remember really.

Maybe I'm misunderstanding or something but so far I haven't really had a lot of issues with sharing things as a family. Most of the games they like to play are things I got free from PS+ like Knack, Rocket League, Ratchet and Clank, etc. They also play a good bit of Super Mega Baseball and Tony Hawk and those were games I paid for.

I keep trying to load MLB the Show 21 on PS5. Downloads all the data and when I try to start the game it crashes. Not sure what to do to be able to play the game.

Why did they remove the ability to backup to a flash drive? That is stupid.
