I'll probably stick to the USb route for now lol. I only use Spotify for podcasts. It's not the same situation during the PS3 days where I was a teen with more time on my hands. The primary reason I want to listen to music on the PS5 is because of the 3D Audio. Listening to music with 3D Audio enabled is a big difference for me.

Can you play music during gameplay?

Yeah, you can listen when you're playing. I usually turn Spotify on when I'm playing sports games (I typically turn off all sound minus the on-the-field/court sounds in sports games.) Plus, I have the app so I can control Spotify from my phone so I don't have to mess with the app on the PS5.

Have you ever wanted to coach or play basketball at the next level, but something prevented you from achieving that dream? Fret no more. Ask me about SimWorld Hoops to see how you can create your virtual self, and follow your path from the prep-level to the pros.

Good. Sports games are the primary reason why I would use it.

Another reason I wanted to be able to download files is hope to bring back the ability to have custom music in games. The ultimate wish for games that has radio stations while driving is to have a custom radio station that plays random songs from your downloaded music

With my PS5 now in the "preparing to ship" stage, I've been thinking about this.

The PS4 has been my favorite generation, so I kind of want to keep my PS4 Pro. But I'm not sure how much I'll use it once I get the PS5. And PS4 Pros are just about as hard to find as PS5s. I'm guessing I could get a decent return on mine, especially since I replaced the stock drive with a 2 TB hybrid drive.

Personal opinion - unless money is super tight for you; I'd hold onto it. The PS4 Pro is a fantastic system - sure it's a bit dated for gaming - but it is still excellent and is a super solid media center. I'm actually considering reinstalling mine so I can use it for media streaming on one screen while playing games on my PS5.
Play the games you love, not the games you want to love.

                    You're not helping, Josh.

If I'm reading/watching right, if I install an SSD in the expansion slot, I'm not replacing the internal drive, I'm just adding to it, right? So if I bought a 2 TB drive, I'd have 2 TB plus 825 GB minus whatever amount the system uses.

                      Correct.

You're not replacing just adding additional storage.

Sell it. The PS5 is the only thing you need now.

I'd keep it, although I'm one that doesn't sell/trade games/systems but rather collects.

You can never have too many gaming systems. So if one goes out you have another to play

                            Re: PlayStation 5

I kept mine for kids and it's been a good thing for them but if it's just you then I would try to sell it because you will not go back to it. Even navigating the UI at a snail's pace compared to the PS5 bugs me when I am trying to find something in the library or the store.

It's still a good system but redundant as an actual gaming console other than remote play and to play physical media somewhere that space or visibility isn't an issue.

Semi-related: I just unboxed some old stuff being stored at my parent's house the other day and the nostalgia of finding my old PS1, SNES, Genesis, etc. was really cool. I just don't think I would look back on the PS4 the same way if I kept it for keepsake. By the time my kids are done with it though there won't be a reason to get rid of it so unless it dies it's going in the box.

I sold my PS4 when I got a PS5. I would have kept it as a media device, but I have my original Xbox One for that so no need for the PS4.

Keeping the PS4 Pro in my office for PSVR1, App Streaming and The Show. I boycotted MLB The Show for the first time ever this year but, when I do return next year, and the PS5 version doesn't have SOTS than it's the PS4 version hands down.
