Thanks, I thought it was, but didn't know for sure. I like the way they look for my Ps2. I ran it through the S video and the graphic did look better. So I thought maybe they would look better. I really like the pic as it is and don't think it can get much better, with out getting Sxd like you guys! I was going to get a SXD, but that size was just to big for me, I am very happy with my 34 and the stand that is made with it is killer!

I only buy Monster cause I get them really cheap..With that being said I paid 60.00 for my AR HDMI cables..6ft.. I bought the Monster 360 components & do notice a difference..But I need to switch back to my MS component cables to make sure I't's not my imagination..The MS cables always looked cheap & flimsy to me..& all stock cables are crap any ways..

jistic and anyone else with the Sony SXRD 50" or 60" tv.....have you been able to play the Xbox 360 and/or view another source in that side-by-side-picture in picture feature yet and if so, how does that all look and what's your opinion of it?

I wasn't really involved in this thread but an FYI -- if anyones looking for a RP CRT the Hitachi 51f59 (51 inch) is 899.99 at circuit city (with 18 months no int. w/their card). I already had a 30" old school HD ready Magnavox but I couldn't resist the price point of this Hitachi! If you could get over the exterior you'll have yourself a great TV. If anyone has seen this in stores it may have looked quite bad (the contrast and brightness are WAY too high by default) but with a little tweaking it is an excellent choice.

It depends on what your plans are for the tv? Are you going to be getting HD programming via the cable company or satellite? If you are, then there is really no need for the built in tuner. When I got my HDTV I knew I wasn't going to get cable so it was a no brainer of getting a HDTV that already had the digital tuner. The only channel that I somewhat miss is ESPNHD, but I just listen to ESPN radio instead.

Oh and I was wondering if you could answer this below for me Jistic..

Hey one question though. I sit in two different places in my bedroom (on my bed and on my lazy boy) and like to turn the tv slightly when switching places. Is the tv agreeable to do that to you think? i know the sucker's huge and all but it certainly weighs a lot less than my 30" samsung CRT. I just wonder how stable the base is though. What do you think?

Thanks for lookin' out for me man but I doubt i'd qualify for their CC as I tried at Best Buy this week and got rejected. I don't see why CC would be any different but I'll try and see what happens. I know have $1500 saved so I'll have the cash to get it on the next check (if there is some sale like this) but yeah this is a great price.

that's great to hear you got back $500. You should be able to go buy Fifa World Cup now! OMG I can't even imagine how unbelievable that would look like on the Sony SXRD......

You'll have to call your cable company and give them your address and see is the only way. Although there is some internet site where you can put in your address to see I believe (try google). But i'd just call your cable company and ask.

So Hd turner will give me some Channels in HD with my basic cable. If not what is the point in having a built in tuner. If I had a HD Ready Tv and Direct Tv , then the built in tuner would be useless? Just trying to get a idea between the two.

It will if you have reception in your area. The only point to it is if you want basic HD channels and you can get them, then the HD tuner is your ticket. If you're using a set top box or DirecTV then yeah the HD-ready aspect is completely useless and doesn't matter.

Ok I got ya, but I thought Hd Ready is fine aslong as you have direct tv, but not is good if you have basic cable. Right?
