Re: HDTV Questions and Answers Thread
well I went and bought monster cables! I like them! The HD looks the same, but the SD looks way better. I know that is not possible, because of the connection and you don't need expensive cables, but it looks better and the sound is better too lol. Maybe I am going crazy!Comment

1. I bought a 50 Db HD antenna which gives me CBS, ABC, FOX, NBC, WB in HD. I am glad I got CBS, b/c my NFL team plays in the AFC so I will get to watch Football in HD. There are a few more channels, but they are weird. I also get a ton of radio stations that are not my local Fm stations.
2. This TV has active control were if you have the lights on the picture automatically adjusts and when you turn of the lights you can see the screen adjust to the darkness in the room. Active contol also set the picture setting when you change between channels.
3. It has picture in picture with split screen and the small box on top of the screen. You can play playstation while you have ESPN in the corner or spilt the screen. You can also switch between the screens to hear the sound of what picture you want to hear. I was able to split the screen between NBC on regular cable and compare it side by side with the same program in HD. What a diffrence HD makes.
4. It has alot of connections including a HDMI connection.
I just got this TV a few days ago, so thats all I know so far and I am really happy I purchased a HDTV.Last edited by jetsfansiny79; 06-06-2006, 04:57 AM.Gametag JetsfanSINY79Comment

Re: HDTV Questions and Answers Thread
Check this out...
I went to Best Buy the other day to look at the Sony 60" SXRD.
I have some sales guy come up to me and tell me that tv is nice, but that he could tell me the tv i really needed if i wanted. So i said sure, why not. He then says that he doesn't get paid on commision, so it doesn't matter how expensive the tv is (again i'm thinking whatever). He then shows me a JVC 46" and goes off about how awesome it is. I tell him that's great, but it's smaller than what i'm looking for. He then says he has something else for me to see and shows me a 52" panasonic. I then say, these tv's are only showing 720 and the sony can go up to 1080p. He then says that you don't need anything over 720 and there aren't any sources that can produce a 1080p picture for me anyway, so why not save 1000s of dollars. He also said if I wanted to go plasma that the 42" LG is the way to go.
I just told him thanks for his help. I'm gonna finish saving some money and get the sony 60" SXRD. It's just an awesome tv all around. Plus, it's technology is ahead enough that it should last for years without having to upgrade again. So I figure it'll actually be cheaper in the long run.
I just wanted to post that and get everyone's thoughts and see if they are the same as mine.Comment
