They are making him buy the protection plan, that puts them back in the black!

I would have bought the warranty regardless as I did with my RP, and thank god that I did since it needed repairs.

        I'd go with the 5087 over the 5086, the 5087 has 1080p.

Oh yeah and I do own the 5087 and it's a great set. I'd be happy to answer anyone's questions about it.

I think he means Circuit Vision. But I don't know how that would relate to this discussion to be quite honest.

Yeah I sure do have cablevison, but we haven't called it cablevison in a while now, it's optimum cable.

Yeah, I have no idea, I just went to this site, and figured that's what he meant.

Re: HDTV Questions and Answers Thread

I would appreciate any insight/info on the following two questions:

                      1) I've read on various threads here that TV prices will be slashed bigtime anywhere from June to August. Percentage wise, how much can we expect these prices to be reduced?

                      2) Last July I purchased a 32" LCD. I like it in a big way, but obviously from the above question, am thinking of going a little bigger. Has anyone ever sold a TV or major appliance on ebay? If so, is it a major pain in the arse? Would that be my best way to go about selling?

                      Thanks in advance

you could sell it on ebay and list it for "pickup only". Meaning you would not have to ship it, which would be a pain, and quite expensive.

Agreed....you can get the 5087 for the same price if you shop at amazon or another online store instead of CC.

Vanns.com is where I got my tv and they have a great price (in my opinion) $1599, no tax, free shipping and you can get your choice of a free upconverting DVD or a free harmon karmdon remote.

I finally did it after some going back and forth, I went and bought the 5087W. I am so damn glad that I did, comparing this TV so far the my RPTV, I really like it. But I can see some of the dislikes that I have read about DLP's with the blacks being kinda soft. I can finally play the damn PS3 games the way that their meant to be played, LOL!

Now I can't wait to hook up my 360 and Wii tomorrow. I'm worn out after moving around 3 TV's, and then must list 2 of the TV's on Craig's List first thing tomorrow.

                              Thanks fellas for the advice.

I had Circuit City today price match ABT Electronics from here in IL and I bought the 5087W for $1499 when they were selling it for $1899.

EG, now it's your turn to get a 1080P TV bro.
