    Incorrect sir.

None of the Sammy DLP's can do true 1080P yet.

Again, I don't understand the fuss over 1080p, no one broadcasts anything in that at all. It's like buying a car that can only drive on one road and no where else.

That's my biggest thing, no chance in hell am I spending the money just for one thing, and that's BD or HD DVD. I've seen them in 1080p and while people on here could tell me till their blue in the face that 1080p looks better than 1080i or 720p, I doin't see it with my eyes, therefore I don't care.

Will is never wrong... lol. Nah, when I was looking at the difference between the Sammy I bought, and the previous "1080p" model, one of the tech guys explained the difference between them... I guess he was wrong too. Lol... so in other words, I sold a 1080p-less 1080p tv... lol.

I think the older ones, like the Sony's could upconvert to 1080p, but not accept a true signal. Now the Sammy can accept a 1080p signal, just not display all of it.

If you want true 1080p, you're going to still pay for it.

              Personally, I'd buy a nice 720p TV if/when looking.

Re: HDTV Questions and Answers Thread

We're not telling you to ignore 1080p HDTVs. They technically do deliver more detail, which can enhance the viewing experience for more eagle-eyed viewers. Also, many manufacturers build other picture-quality benefits, such as better contrast and/or color, into their 1080p HDTVs simply because those sets are the high-end models. And given the continuing march of technology, we expect more and more 1080p models to become available at lower and lower prices. Today, however, the premium for 1080p is still pretty steep, and unless you're getting a very large set, say 50 inches or more, we don't recommend basing a buying decision on whether or not the television has 1080p native resolution.

I was confused when I got my HDTV since the my cable box had all these settings 480p, 720p, 1080i, fixed, upscale 1 and upscale 2. Best thing is to try the different resolutions, 720p or 1080i, and use see what looks better on your TV. Some recommend going with the TV's native resolution. 720p is supposed to be better for shows with lots of movement, like sports. On my 720p DLP use 720p. On the 1080i CRT I use 1080i. I've switched between 720p and 1080i and its hard to tell any difference.

Its the same thing that I was reading and listening to a podcast over the weekend on HDMI 1.3. These technologies that are releasing way too soon for the public.

If you buy the latest techonolgy it'll be old quick anyway. So I'd rather buy last year's TV's and save a bunch of $. It's still new to me.

I think I may go with the Samsung DLP HLS4676S 46" TV. Does anyone have any bad experiances with this TV?

Also I will be putting it downstairs where the windows are single pain so its colder down there, does a projection TV fog up when its cold and then it heats up?

My Sammy DLP is downstairs in the family room where it's been very cold here in Chicago the last week, the TV has been fine.
