Any electronic purchase that I make over $200 I get the warranty. But that is just my opinion. Other people like to say they are a waste of money. I like the warm fuzzy feeling I get knowing that if my TV blows up a year down the road I get a new one.

We were in the same boat. Got a 32" LG LCD TV before Christmas as our Christmas gift to each other and we couldn't go to a 37". If only they made an intermediate size! It still looks great in our room. I also rationalize that its actually bigger than 32" since its not hanging on the wall which would be almost two feet farther away.

A lot of companies offer warranties online that are much cheaper than what you buy in the store. I know Sony offers online warranties for their TV's this way.

Damn women and armoires. I went through that crap years ago. Finally moved that thing into another room. Then went through hell trying to find a tv stand the wife liked. Now she hates the armoire and wants to get rid of it. And I am like "No f-ing way are we getting rid of it, you had to have it so you are stuck with it FOREVER !"

Did you get the warranty for it?

What's the difference between LCD and DLP projection?

That is good to hear that you found a TV that you like. I was reading that this Sony doesn't accept 1080P signal over component which would render the 360 HD-DVD player useless if you want 1080P.

I still like the SXRD, hopefully you can enjoy it when it arrives.

I still want a new receiver + HD-A2, so my money will hopefully go to those later in the year.

That's the reason I didn't go with the SXRD. That and the fact it was like $800 more than the Samsung too. But I'll bet that aside it'll be a great TV for FF.

For me to get the SXRD it would cost me another $400 on top of what I have spent already, I would rather wait to get a newer receiver + the HD-A2 (which I have found for $370).

Well for me I guess at some point I need to buy a dining room table. The cardboard box I have with a towel on it *is* starting to look pretty lame. But then on second thought there is that HD-DVD 360 add-on......
