    HDMI 1.3

    Released 22 June 2006.[1] [2]

    * Increases single-link bandwidth to 340 MHz (10.2 Gbps)
    * Supports 30-bit, 36-bit, and 48-bit (RGB or YCbCr) color depths or over one billion colors, up from 24-bit in previous versions.
    * Supports xvYCC color standards.
    * Incorporates automatic audio syncing (lip sync) capability.
    * Supports output of Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio streams for external decoding by AV receivers.[3] TrueHD and DTS-HD are lossless audio codec formats used on HD DVDs and Blu-ray Discs. If the disc player can decode these streams into uncompressed audio, then HDMI 1.3 is not necessary, as all versions of HDMI can transport uncompressed audio.
    * Availability of a new mini connector for devices such as camcorders.[4]
    * PlayStation 3 is the first product available on consumer market with HDMI 1.3.[5]
    * Epson has released the EMP-TW1000 as the first display supporting 30-bit deep color.[6]

    Main thing is the amount of colors it supports... over 1 Billion colors.

      Candy, do they make a bigger size Sammy...I'd like a 60inch or over that will display in 1080p using the 360 HD Disk player?
      Yes, they have a 61" Sammy

        I'm confused? Replacement battery? Do you mean replacement bulb?

        If so, that's pretty nice that they come with a replacement bulb. I don't mind spending the $200 on a replacement, but it would be nice if Samsung sent out replacement bulbs with their DLPs. I think I paid $2300 for my DLP when it came out so a bulb would've been a nice addition!

            you are too far away from it. I know you have a great TV and all, I wish I had one like it for the bedroom, but 12 feet is too far away from anything smaller than 50 inches.

                BTW, Candy, stick with your Sammy. There is no need to trade the thing in on the Sony. Both are great TVs. I know you have doubts sometimes, as I do with mine, but just stick with it. I think you will be happy.

                I quit going to AVS after I bought my TV because it always ended up costing me more money. I would read about something and think I had to have it. I also don't like that they won't let you talk about price over there.

                  I know it will look good, but you are losing a lot of detail. If that doesn't bother you than I guess your cool. 13"? I had one of them when I was a kid, I didn't know they still made them.

                    Yeah, we have 13" tubes in our bedroom, and in our spare room. Our office has a 27" tube, and our living room has a 30" HDTV tube. Then my 34" HD Tube in the family room.

                    To me, the screen looks great at 12 feet, I don't notice any detail loss from when I get closer to it. I game from about 4 feet away in a gaming chair.

                    To each their own.

                      Yes, AVS can be very evil and deceiving on the mind.

                      I'm not going to return the Sammy for the Sony, but it did cross my mind for a few minutes last night. Once I can get professional calibration on it, the TV will be top notch (not that it isn't now). LOL!

                        yeah, same here. The Avia disk really heped the PQ of my TV and sometimes I wonder if it could be any better. Then I come one here and EG is talking about calibration and then I read it other places then I think I need to get mine done. I just don't know if it's worth the 400 bucks. It seems like it ought to be possible to get it done cheaper. I am going to look into it though.

                              I tried that, I had Avia (I prefer Video Essentials), and I still couldn't get my set perfect. My set's calibration was $300 though, not $400 The images literally pop off the screen now.

                                yeah, mine do that now. I feel like I can touch them on some channels. I also got the new cable box on Monday and it has improved my PQ even more. I think I will wait until I have to get a new bulb before I calibrate.
