That is why I'm thinking I shouldn't waste my time. Plus I talked to Direct TV and they are giving me a free installation deal in that room so I'm leaning that direction... only if I re-up the contract extension to two more years which I have no problem doing.

I returned mine to Circuit City, and had another box installed in my bedroom from Dish. Wasn't worth the headache to me.

I know this is a HDTV thread and I haven't read through all of it but could someone suggest a HD monitor?

I'm looking for something that I can run a PS3 in 1080P on, preferably 23-24", budget is about 500-600.

So far the only one I've come across is this one

Anything lower then 32-37 inches and you won't really see the difference with 1080p.

That's true with TVs, but if he's buying a computer monitor and sitting one or two feet away, he will notice the difference.

Actually, few can tell a difference at 50".

I can tell on my 42", or at least I think I can. It really depends on the TV.

i am getting an HD tv with our wedding money in november. through my own research i have decided on the 37" vizio lcd. is this a good choice for a gamer and for watching sports? i hear vizio is nice, but wanted some opinions.

I have the 32" Vizio and it's very very good. It has all the inputs (2 HDMI, 2 Component, S-Video, Composite, etc) that you see on more expensive brands. PQ is very good...HD movies and Xbox 360 look great.

Even with all that said, if you're waiting til November to purchase you may as well hold off until Black Friday. You may find a sweet deal in the same price range. The Vizio's every day price isn't going to change.

What is the best t.v. for gaming? RPTV or LCD flat panel. Im looking at the Sony 55A3000 RPTV, and the Sony XBR4 LCD. Thanks.

I just picked the 32 incher up last Sunday, and I'm loving it so far. I hooked the 360 up to it, and wow. It just sucks that i've got an SDTV for my gaming needs. I never should've tried the 360 out on the Vizio because standard looks like crap now, lol.

They are both fine displays. Usually rear projections will get you more size for the cost, but you do have bulbs every couple years (most service plans will cover only ONE replacement). Also, note that every TV has issues that are magnified.

I don't think you'll go wrong either way. The A3000 has the SXRD/LCos third generation engine, while the XBR LCD's are among the highest rated over at CNET and other A/V sites.

just replaced my old 65" mitsubishi with a a brand new 65" DLP 1080p mitsubishi. So far, this thing looks amazing, but I see some blur in video games that I never saw before in my older one. Anyone have any ideas on this? Thanks
