So, I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on how to tune it. I've done a little tinkering and it looks ok, no HD channels yet, so kinda hard to tell how they might look. I've got Comcast, but I need to call them and get the hookup tomorrow or whatever. Anyway, like I said, if anyone wants to give their tuning stuff, it would be appreciated.

Also, I'm just using the regular cable hookup. I'm not all that technilogically advanced, so dont know if that matters or not. Is there anything else I should look into getting in the near future that will make a huge difference?

    Thanks in advance!
Hey man. Welcome to the Vizio family. I think you can go to the avsforum.com to get the settings other people are using. I'm pretty much using the default setting with a lower contrast as it was a bit too bright out of the box.
Not sure where you live, but you can probably catch some HD channels with a regular antenna. Put in your address at www.antennaweb.org to check. That's what I've been doing the past 3 years....sports games in HD on NBC, ABC, CBS and FOX have all been good.

Hey, thanks man. I live in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Its Northeast, about 15 mins from Ohio, 45 mins from Michigan. I tried some of the settings from the avsforum, but I didnt care for them to be honest. Standard setting seems to be working for me so far though.

I checked AntennaWeb, and found the channels I should get, but they dont come in for me. I live in an apt, so that could be the problem, though there is an antenna on the roof, its a ranch style apt. Anyway, I try to enter the channel, not through the cable remote, but with the Vizio remote, but nothing works. Should I call Comcast?

Edit: When I try the HD local channels, when the box pops up that tells me what channel I've selected, it says cable under it. Should I change a setting that would not search for a cable channel?

        What's the response time?

16 ms, not good. It's my understanding that anything over 12ms is considered inadequate for gaming purposes.

I know lcd's don't produce the best blacks but what should I adjust to try to make a deeper black because the blacks look a bit cloudy on my HDTV. Any calibration help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Antennaweb gives you a general direction of where to point your antenna but it's a lot of trial and error.
You need to go into the menu screen with the vizio remote and switch from cable to antenna. Then go down and select auto program. That way the tv looks for the channels for you and will auto save them once it's done.

I just moved to a new apartment and had to keep moving the antenna around to finally catch a signal. Free HD is worth the extra effort.

Honestly, I'd return it and go with a different brand. Obviously, I'd recommend the Vizio....it's the best of the budget LCD, IMO. You want to be using no less than component cables to make the best use of your tv. Composite vs component is a night and day difference.

That link say 8ms which is the ideal response time for gaming. Could be his TV is defective. As suggested, I would take that set back to CC & pick-up an Olevia or Vizio if possible.

                      D-OHH!!!

You're right, I was looking at the specs for the FLX-3202, not the 3210. Oops.

Re: HDTV Questions and Answers Thread

Instead of buying another HD receiver I purchased today an HDTV antenna for my office room so I can watch HD sports while working.

To my surprise I can't get any HD broadcasting. Before you ask, yes the TV has a HD tuner.

I set the TV to antenna and put the switch to antenna and ran the setup on TV and it got all the channels. But didn't register the HD channels. For example WGN HD is on channel 19 here and when I went to that channel 19 was just snow. WGN 9 worked and was 480i but was suppose to be 1080i. Sox game was playing at that time.

When I switched the antenna setup on the cable and hit the switch to cable on the back that didn't work either. But this time I registered a lot less channels with weird numbers.

                        This is the antenna: http://www.circuitcity.com/ssm/Phili...oductDetail.do

                        Confused and looking for help.

I tried that antenna as well and ended up returning it. I actually went through about 4 powered antennas before keeping a RCA one. If you aren't in a prime location it will take a lot of trial and error to find a "sweet spot" for the indoor antenna to sit and pick up a decent signal.

That is what I am thinking. I'm 20 something miles away from the nearest tower so I might just end up buying a receiver instead.

I was about 40 miles from the nearest tower, and was never able to pull in anything with these indoor antennas.

I would like to know if when playing sports video games such as hockey and baseball on an lcd tv if the puck is supposed to ghost or have jittery blurring when shot and the same thing when a basball is thrown. Is this to do with lcd technology or just my set and has anybody else experience this with games and watching sporting events.
