Wow, I want direct tv pretty bad now. The problem is that 4 rooms have cable HD dvr's in them and it would cost so much more to have those replaced with Direct TV one's. But all the FSN's in hd is a huge plus, i would be happy with just that. You wouldn't need to buy NBA season pass at all. And all those movie channels, man. Plus I'm a big learning channel fan, so all of that in HD would be great.

Quick question, are all the NFL league pass games in HD?

I hope Cox cable has something to combat this because I'll make the jump as soon as I can get 4 hd dvr's from Direct tv.

The NFL games are only in HD if you buy the Superfan package, which is $99 extra on top of the package itself, which is like $200 I think.

The Superfan thing also comes with a bunch of other stuff. One thing I'm really looking forward to are the 30-minute games. Basically, they take every game and release 30-minute, commercial free broadcasts of the games from the week. Right after the play is dead, they immediately jump to the beginning of the next play. It's really cool and loved the free preview of this offering. Can't wait to have it every week.

EDIT: I also have a question for you guys with DirecTV and have the SportsPack already. Let's say I get this and get the Fox Regional Channels and all the Comcast stuff. This basically means I pretty much wouldn't need the NBA League Pass since most of the games would be available through those channels, right? Or are there restrictions that make you need the League Pass?

The NBA and MLB games are generally blacked out.

I just bought a Panasonic 50" 75U. The HD broadcasts are incredible and standard definition is certainly adequate. I've hooked up my 360 to it and it runs flawlessly. No motion blur like you can sometimes see on an LCD.

Check out frys.com for an INCREDIBLE price. $1,299!!!

              Folks,

I'm hoping someone here who knows a lot about this stuff can help me. I have a Westinghouse 32" LCD HDTV. This one right here:

I go to power it on last night and it's telling me there's no signal coming from my HD digital cable box. I have it plugged in with an HDMI cable. I tried to unplug the cable box and plug in my PS3 with the HDMI and same thing, no signal detected.

I'm guessing that somehow my HDMI input crapped out. Does this happen a lot? Anyone ever hear of something like this happening? I still can get a signal with the component inputs on the TV, as well as the standard coax antenna, but for some reason, nothing I plug into the HDMI input is showing up.

Keep in mind, I've tried two different devices with two different HDMI cables and have gotten the same result. Luckily, I bought the Best Buy 4 year service plan on it, but after spending a frustrating 20 minutes on the phone last night, the soonest they can get out to me to look at it is in 3 weeks.

              Any advice?

I had the HDMI board crap out on an old Sammy DLP...it's not common, but it does happen. You'll have to get it fixed, but hey, at least it'll be a very quick repair when it DOES get done.

Only advice beyond that is to make sure that when you plug/unplug your stuff that both components are powered off...then again, some boards are just crap (the old 2-3% failure rate).

It's a LCD, take it to the store, tell them you want it fixed now, or you want a new TV.

yeah, don't mess around w/ the warranty people. I had to put up w/ that and it was horrible. If you can, take it back to the store and try to get another TV. They might tell you 3 weeks, but it could be a lot longer. They like to "reschedule".

So my roommates bought a 42 inch Olevia LCD TV and we got HD cable....the HD looks great, especially ESPN. But the non HD channels look downright terrible, is this normal for a bigger LCD TV?

Pretty much, it's the nature of the beast. A low-res signal on a high-res display just isn't going to look very good.

So at Shopko where my buddy works I found a 32" Sansui for $550 and a 32" Westinghouse for $580. Do those seem like good deals? Which brand is generally better between Sansui and Westinghouse? I don't have HD service but I will once I finish up college. This TV is kind of a purchase for all the 360-ing and such.

Hi, I just bought an element 32 lcd flx-3210 today from CC. I got it mainly for gaming but i'm having some issues with it already. When I was playing the show on the PS3 it lags. However I am still using the composite cables as i do not have the HDMI or Comonent cables yet. Would that be the problem or is it a settings issue?

Hey guys, my standard gaming TV crapped out on me this morning, so I figured now was the time to pick up an HDTV. After looking through this thread some and checking this mornings ads, I decided on the Vizio 32 inch LCD. Its a nice TV, as some of you said.

So, I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on how to tune it. I've done a little tinkering and it looks ok, no HD channels yet, so kinda hard to tell how they might look. I've got Comcast, but I need to call them and get the hookup tomorrow or whatever. Anyway, like I said, if anyone wants to give their tuning stuff, it would be appreciated.

Also, I'm just using the regular cable hookup. I'm not all that technilogically advanced, so dont know if that matters or not. Is there anything else I should look into getting in the near future that will make a huge difference?

                                Thanks in advance!
