Check out avsforum.com and see if there's a thread on your tv in their forums...they might have some settings to try (they did for my LCD)...Nintendo Switch Friend Code: SW-7009-7102-8818Comment

Re: HDTV Questions and Answers Thread
I just bought a 22" HDTV and upgraded the component cords and my games look absolutely amazing. I had never played a 360 on hi def until now and its like I am playing on a whole new system. My question however is this. My HDTV is obviously, due to the size, set for 720p. Would it be best to have my xbox set at 720p or 1080p? I had read a few places where people said it looked better when they switched their 720p HDTV to 1080p in the xbox live settings.
Or will it just not matter?YNWAComment

Re: HDTV Questions and Answers Thread
I have a Samsung HLS-4265W DLP and I've been told by the guys on AVS that contrast and brightness settings have absolutely no impact on lamp life. The "Dynamic" setting might though, because apparently in that setting the lamp burns brighter than "Standard," "Movie" or "Custom."
As for settings, I don't have access to my TV at the moment, but I believe they're something like this (for my 360 via component):
Contrast 60
Brightness 50
Sharpness 50
Color 43
Tone Mid
White balance Normal
If you're interested, I can look up the exact numbers and post them.Comment

Re: HDTV Questions and Answers Thread
Combo, what model Samsung do you have? Is it a 720p model or a 1080p? Mine's 720p, so the settings probably won't translate perfectly to a 1080p model, because those models have much higher contrast ratios (10,000:1 vs. 2,500:1).Comment

Rule of thumb: Best to go with the native resolution of your tv.I just bought a 22" HDTV and upgraded the component cords and my games look absolutely amazing. Re: HDTV Questions and Answers Thread
Finally entered the HD world, need a little help with the setup.
I got a 42" LG LCD that does 1080p.
For gaming:
I've got the PS3 hooked up via HDMI. Should I leave all resolutions checked on the PS3 or just 1080p and 480p (it won't let me disable 480p)?
For TV:
I've got the cable box hooked up with DVI. I set the default resolution at 1080i on the box. In settings, it gives me four options:
Auto DVI
Fixed
Up Convert 1
Up Convert 2
Fixed seems to lock everything at 720, even though I have 1080i set as the default. So I put it on Up Convert 1, which to my knowledge puts HD at 1080i and SD at 480p. Is this right?
Thanks.Comment

Re: HDTV Questions and Answers Thread
Just bought a Samsung 42" Plasma (HPT 4254). It is absolutely beautiful. I plan on watching a lot of sports and have read that Plasma is the way to go with that. I got a free Samsung upconvert dvd as well.
I had been doing research for a good 3 months and finally settled on this one. I highly recommend it for anyone looking at this size and type of TV.
Thanks,

Re: HDTV Questions and Answers Thread
Upconverting would put a standard def DVD at either 1080i or 720p depending on player and tv. 480p is basicaly what all dvds are 480 lines of "p"rogressive resolution. 480i is standard def tv. "i"nterlaced lines of resolution. Finally entered the HD world, need a little help with the setup.
