Re: HDTV Questions and Answer Thread
Hey guys, I am pretty set on buying the Sony 42" or 50" A10 model. Any real suggestions on where to buy? I have found a couple places with the 42" listed for about 1700 and that's the cheapest I can find it. I have read about others finding it for around 14. Any help would be great. I searched the forums over at avsforum.com, but they don't like to talk pricing for some odd reason. I think the best 2 prices for reputable companies that I have found are at CompUSA and ABT Electronics. Sears, Best Buy, and those big box retailers are all selling the 42" for 1899 and the 50" for 2399.
Anyone have word on what TVs will be big sale items on "Black Friday", the day after Thanksgiving? I wouldn't imagine that the A10 models would be, but maybe something better that I can get for about the same price or cheaper. I'm open to any suggestions. I thought I had talked myself into waiting until next year to go HD, but I can't imagine playing the 360 on anything but HD.
I guess, if for some reason, my 360 order gets delayed, it might save me from another big purchase before Christmas. I guess what I am really asking is, where can I find a great HD set for 1500 or less? What is the best TV for that price range? I will use it for watching sports and gaming with occasional movies thrown in.Last edited by jpup; 11-14-2005, 06:26 AM.NFL: Tennessee Titans

Not Avia, but JohnnyTheSkin gave a quick overview of the Digital Video Essentials DVD earlier on this page or the previous page. I ordered the Digital Video Essentials DVD, but it hasn't come in yet (although I haven't checked the mail since Friday).Comment

The only time I've heard of problems is when someone changes something in the service menu and don't know what they're doing. I've made 1 change in the service menu of my TV and that's all I'm going to do. I don't recommend it, but this change is well documented on my TV and relatively easy to do.Comment
