    Re: The Shield: Season Five

    SPOILER>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

I thought that Vic was in this the whole time when Shane blew up Lemonhead. Then at the end when Vic tells the guys that they are going to kill whomever did this shows that he wasn't a part of it. I liked how he took down Cavanaugh at the end. [/B]

That's exactly what I was thinking. Unbelievable season finale. Being a Shield fan from the beginning, I rated it as a close 2nd behind Sopranos. That was until I started watching 24 last year (and seen all 4 season since then). I will admit that 24 is my favorite show, but Shield is right up there.

Regardless of anything 24 does, I don't think any scene will measure up to the Lem-Shane scene. That was a powerful scene. I knew Shane once he turned away and his facial expressions signaled something bad for Lem. I thought he was goingt o shoot him.

At the beginning of the season, I wasn't too fond of the whole Cavanaugh storyline, but I grew to like it. If Forest Whitaker doesn't win best supporting actor or whatever category he is supposed to be in; it'll be bs. What a character he portrayed this season.

I know I just watched and I probably haven't had the time to reflect as much, but I think Season 5 might be the best yet. I always like the one with Armadillo the most, but this one is close.

    Can't wait for next January
    1. Shield: Last season before it ends

    2. 24: Season 6 (might be last season. Sutherland signed on for 3 movies of 24 so they might go in that direction)

    3. Sopranos: Last season

    4. Prison Break (I'm assuming Fox picks it up).

I hope Thief comes through, but it'll be sort of a letdown considering the last few episodes of Shield. Man what an episode.

It will be awhile-probably Jan 2007.

I never thought Vic was involved in this. I didn't realize that Lem would buy it until Shane and he were alone. It was a powerful episode and right on course. Shane was always the weakest link and most unlikeable (IMO) of the four (although Ronny is a mere attachment to the heart of the team). Any redeeming qualities that Shane had mean nothing. He, more than Cavanaugh is the enemy. Vic was the guts and Lem was the heart of the team, and now there left with a leader, a traitor, and little used Ronny. It will be interesting to see if a new team member will be added next year, or how Lem's murder will impact the future of the team.

This was good stuff tonight. I think that the team ends up getting disbanded from within (internal) fighting with each other.

Shane has really screwed things up for Vic, I see these two going at it next season.

Is it me or does Chiklis look like he put on some weight?

Maybe 5 or so pounds-not like in his Seinfield days.

What an amazing episode, very tense and kept me on the edge of my seat. January 07 is going to be to long of a wait for The Shield to come back.

              Still, what an episode, WOW!

Please don't end this series. Few shows actually shock me the way The Shield does. The Shane/Lemonhead scene was one of the most powerful I've seen in a long time.

The final scene truly pushed me into hating Kavanaugh. Even though it got personal, I always saw Kavanaugh as a guy just trying to do his job. That comment at the end was so uncalled for. I so wanted Vic to put a bullet in his head. To blame Curtis's death on Vic pushed it much to far.

I might have missed something, but is it confirmed that Vic is Danny's baby daddy? I saw the hospital scene, but I don't remember the exact words being said.

                    Not confirmed, but implied strongly...

I wish they allowed Vic to bust his *** instead of just roll around with him... I wanted to see him split him open!

Good! So I didn't miss anything. I've always had the impression Danny assumed it was Vic, but was never sure.

All good things must come to end, but they will have an 8 episode season next year to probably end the series.

I thought they were going to have a season after this split season. Damn damn damn. Somebody get me Michael Chiklis's phone number. I'll beg and plead and bribe and whatever else I have to do. Well, within reason, I mean.

                            Don't quote me. I hope I'm wrong. I got this from Newsday.com

[FX's original break-out adult drama is at the top of its game, five seasons in, with eight more episodes next year planned to conclude its socko saga of Chiklis' indelible good/bad bulldog cop Vic Mackey.]

Hell no.... soon as I saw him drop it I was like.... OMFG, NO WAY... WTF?!?!?!?!?!!??!? Then they showed him blink once or twice tryin to breathe as he died.... and then Shane's breakdown... wow.... just wow.

Easily one of the most powerful TV series moments I can ever remember.
