        Re: The Shield: Season Five

The real question is, is the Sopranos offically coming back in January of 07. Cause I dont see them going head to head. I hope the Shield ends this year. Also, about Tevon, remember that when he was still in the hospital the team made him worry about Shane's wife's health and the health of the baby. They spooked him into thinking he may have done something wrong. So that could be a closed chapter or something could spark it back open. I just knew Shane was going to shoot Lim. But that granade has to be the worst, sloppy thing ever. How's that not going to blow back on them. How are they going to spin the motive, for going after a cop on the run vs going after the guy's that just busted them. And once Vic picks up on that, are they going to really look for away to bail Shane out, yet again. Overall, I this episode left a very bad taste in my mouth.

IMO, I don't think anything will compare to the way Six Feet Under went out. The Sopranos have a high bar to climb.

No, it'll be on Tuesdays, I have no clue what he's talking about.

But, IIRC the doctor's said his memory could just come back at any time. I am surprised that he didn't come up this year given Cavanaugh's investigation into all things Strike Team.

Does anyone know if Forest Whitaker will be back in 2007? I know it's early, but I'm wondering if there are any rumblings.

He's signed on. Technically, next year, is still this season.

I don't think it was a new vision as much as an insight into how Dutch is affected by watching so many people (ie. Vic, the perps, and now the old captain) get away with obvious crimes. He wants to be the straight-laced goodboy cop, but he can easily fall to the Dark Side, if you will. I feel that he's the best written character in the series.

With the montage of all the main characters lives and deaths. I wasn't that impressed by it, but I wasn't really into the show that much after the second season.

I'd like The Shield to end with the Strike Team office being closed with a couple of seconds on the sign Vic placed on the door.

I agree, he has many, many layers, and they haven't even scratched the surface on a lot of them. The end with the female cop was great though, because to me, it brought back the choking the cat storyline. He's not a 100% goody goody.

Another question, Aaron mentioned this earlier about Kavanaugh's case going south if anyone found out he talked to Dutch about the case. And Kavanaugh mentioned it to Acevada about Dutch suspecting the money train case.

In my opinion, the only good way to end The Shield, is for Vic to die.

That would be powerful. Having him go to prison wouldn't be a good ending.

I think that could come up in the end. I agree with you on Dutch. It's great to see him slip every now and then.

Yikes! You must really hate Vic for all that he's done. I guess I'm the only one who wants to see him walk away completely free. Now maybe if he was striken with cancer or some other fatal disease, I might be able to accept that.
