I gaurentee if it wasnt for the fight when the canadian guy said somethin about the ex brother in law, he wouldnt have had him killed only beat up. But this is his way at getting back at bobby, he had the power

There are so many themes you miss, AJ having sex in his parents bed, thats a power play.

Also did you notice that Janice was trying to tell Carm about killing Richie, she couldnt come out with it she only said they went their seperate ways.

So Janice is more like her father she goes off her rocker with her temper, tony is more manipulative and, the song about the ducks we aint heard about the ducks for awhile.

Who elses family nights dont end in drunken fights, come on raise your hand

    BRAVO David Chase, Bravo

Im gonna truely miss this show
You make some very good points, and agree with your analysis of this episode.

The whole thing with Carmella and Janice, where Janice was trying to tell Carmella about Richie was kinda creepy as she had much to do with that.

Yes, she does serve a purpose to each episode, this one believe it or not she was not completely acting like she has in the past.

Alcohol was the equalizer in this fight, and I think Bobby would be in serious trouble (not that he isn't now) if this happened in front of Tony's boys.
It didn't look like he was wearing gloves, but then his shirt was torn and we didn't see him take off with that other piece of the shirt.

Actually that is what you do. Leave the evidence behind immediately, so it can't be traced back to you. (As long as the gun is untraceable).

Mafioso always drop the gun after a hit. They use untraceable weapons. The last thing they want is to be caught with the murder weapon. See Godfather I when Michael Corleone killed the police captain.

It's Bobby Baccala. Everything he does is very careless or makes little sense.

I hated this episode. I don't care about how many underlying things went on and stuff, it was still a lame episode. And I wish they had killed off AJ a while ago because his character is the most annoying thing going on this show.

exactly. I thought at first you were calling Bobby an idiot for the remark, but the shirt should have a match with the DNA. maybe some hair fibers or something else.

Thought the episode was actually revealing in what to expect this upcoming season. I'm just wondering if Jannice will be so quick to give up Tony, if this somehow comes back to bite Bobby. Jannice knows a couple of "secrets" (Richie, etc) about Tony, and the ending basically can be interpreted as Bobby entering the world of mob as the next "Don" or "Tony". "no bows and arrows now" My guess anyways.
Also, "then we'll see what happens after that. Long term."
I thought that quote by Tony says it all. Others that caught my ears, *no risk, no reward* and so on. Good premiere, I approve.

I think he is going to get caught. And he will spill the beans to save his own hide..........mainly because of his little girl.

They kept referencing and playing on that story about the little kid drowning in the pool. I got the sense that Bobby's daughter was always in danger in those scenes when she was around or in the lake. I don't know why, but I think someone is going down in that lake this year. Bobby? The little girl as a reprisal? Janice? There is heavy foreshadowing there...

Any money the guy that Bobby killed will be Janice's estranged son Harpo.

There were a lot of underlying tones in this episode and I think its what will setup the events for the remaining of the season.

Even though I felt this episode was kinda weak, it does set things up for where we will look for what will come down the road. There was just too many underlying tones throughout.

Good episode. I like how they delve into the character's psyches in this show. How they all rationalize the horrible things that they do. The Bobby/Tony fight was unexpected and I was surprised that Bobby had the stones to step to Tony. In the end, Tony gets his revenge by robbing Bobby of the little bit of innocence that he had left. Great stuff to chew on.

Yup, like a poster said earlier, that was Tony's way of getting back at Bobby.

                            good first episode imo

i agree. there was some foreshadowing going on with that Lake.

btw, We know that family is probably going to be what brings it all down. i bet that Janice and Bobby are really going to play a big role in screwing up the "family". I bet Bobby is going to get pinched and he's going to eat cheese

It's like someone else said. A "bad" episode of Sopranos is better than a great episode of 99% of the other shows on television. With that said, I liked the episode we were treated to last night. I sat there during that Monopoly game, knowing something bad was about to happen, and I got an uneasy feeling going in my stomach. When a TV show can give me that type of feeling, it has done it's job.

that DNA wont matter because Bobby killed the guy in Canada, with an untraceable gun. He isnt in the canadian database as a criminal, so them tracking him down will be slim to none.
