    Artist: People Under the Stairs
    Album: Stepfather
    Producer(s): People Under the Stairs

Chilling, relaxing, or just plain chillaxing is the official verb of this cd. Beat-boy rap is famous in L.A. but noone does it better than People Under the Stairs. Story-telling is a large part of what makes this group so dynamic, and the smooth beats by Thes One is always a pleasure to listen to. Plus, Double K's scratching is arguably the best in the hip-hop industry, and all of it captures the ears of anyone in a close enough distance. Their albums of the past are great, and this album doesn't fall short of that. Whether your hoppin' to "Tuxedo Rap", or loungin' to "More than You Know", you are always going to enjoy every minute of the album, and the awesome DVD they include with it.

My favorite CD so far this year. The more I listen to it, the more I like it. Amazing work by PUTS.

Most of the songs are great in their own respect, but you're right, "Days Like This" is a song I always have to listen to when it comes on. Never skip it.

Danger Mouse teamed up with MF Doom for an album, and he more recently hooked up with Cee-Lo for the Gnarls Barkley project. Next on his hit list is Roots lyrical savant Black Thought. "We're in the middle of working on some material right now," Thought recently revealed. "We got together a few months ago, before the whole Gnarls Barkley thing took off the way it did. So I'm not sure of how that's gonna affect our project, but it's still in the works."

Thought said he's not really sure of the album's direction yet. "You can never call it with Danger Mouse," the Philadelphia showman smiled. "I would call it a meeting of the minds. It would not be like me, Black Thought from the Roots, and Danger Mouse the producer — it's us taking on two personas. I guess you get the gist of what he's doing with the Gnarls Barkley and with the Doom record. It's nothing like those two records, but in the same realm. We don't have a working [album] title, we don't even have titles for the songs. It's very much a work in progress, but I'm feeling what it is."

Can't wait for this album! It'll be interesting hearing Black Thought over Danger Mouse's beats.....

P.S. If you like Wutang then you should pick up wutang affiliate Bronze Nazareth's new album "The Great Migration". Beats are very, very good.....imo one of the best produced albums of the year.

So, umm, if this is true, and it does get released, I might just have a heart attack. If anybody has anymore information about this record, I would love to hear. Black Thought is one of my favorite MCs and DangerMouse is one of my favorite producers....I mean, I'm really enjoying the Gnarls Barkley album, and I used to not care for Cee-Lo all that much. I can only imagine how ridiculous this album will be. If anybody has anymore info, fill me in. Thanks.

                    Re: fans of underground rap?

Everyone probably knows my taste in music now, so I'm looking to you guys for some help...

Give me some suggestions for a mix cd I am going to play at a party tomorrow night. My friend who is throwing the party is into the underground scene like me too, so we are avoiding all the BS you hear at the club, and trying to put on some party-type tracks from the artists that we all love (everyone in this thread).

Any suggestions for what I should throw on this joint? So far I have "Ladies Jam" and "Lovin' It" both by Little Brother.

THANKS GUYS... I know you guys will come thru.

I've been jamming to DJ Jazzy Jeff & The Fresh Prince's "Summertime" over the past week, getting ready for Summer.

                      Here's a couple suggestions:
DJ Z Trip - All About the Music (feat. Whipper Whip)
                      Mr. Lif - Status
Ghostface Killah - Be Easy (feat. Trife)
                      Felt - Life Vegas
Cypress Hill - The Phuncky Feel One

The Roots - The Seed 2.0
Talib Kweli - The Beast (feat. Papoose)

                                Artist: Smitty
                                Album: Voice of the Ghetto
Producer(s): Hi-Tek, Scram Jones, Close Edge, Jazze Pha, Streetrunner, 9th Wonder, Akon, Kanye West, Needles, Buckwild

He has some pretty talented producers on this album, and big names on his songs, but many of the songs fail to bring empowerment to your ears. Granted, 2 songs on this album are amazing. "Pop Quiz" and "Everyday" ft. Joe. I expected better, but then, this guy is new. Give him time. A good, good sign is that he is already getting marquee names on his album, so maybe he and they will bat for a higher average next time around.
