    Artist: Edgar Allen Floe
    Album: Floe Almighty
Producer(s): 9th Wonder; Khrysis; Edgar Allen Floe (Slicemysta); Son of Yorel

You can listen to this cd from front to back, and no songs are going to spur you to turn off this spectacular mixtape. Floe collabs with some of the best producers in Hip-hop and strikes big. Some songs won't wow you, but none disappoint. "The Torch" however, is produced very well, and rapped over with perfection for a song that will put a smile on your face, and force you to nod your head. I don't know if I've stressed it enough, but any artist out there who wants to put out a smash-hit, just hook up with 9th Wonder... please!!! at least hook up with Khryis.

      Artist: O.C.
      Album: Starchild
Producer(s): Static Slektah; Locsmif; Vanguard; Soul Supreme
      Release: 2/23/2005

Not spectacularly produced, but you can't hate on the prodigy that never made it big from the D.I.T.C. Hailing from this group of individuals was the likes of Big L, and Fat Joe. Although I try to keep my opinions limited as far as what I think of certain artists, I have to say that O.C. definitely deserved fame over Fat Joe. I happen to think Fat Joe is a joke, but O.C. is far from that. He is in fact a starchild, lost among the underground population. "What am I Supposed to Do?" is probably one of the greatest songs ever released in hip-hop history, and if you've never heard of it, you need to let your ears hear a quick clip of heavenly lyrics over dynamic production. The cd isn't superb, but it gives a glimpse of what kind of talent this man possesses. After hearing a couple of these tracks, it will spur you to buy his latest album "Smoke and Mirrors" which is a classic.

        Re: fans of underground rap?

I got three tracks from the new Jurassic 5 album, and, um, I wonder what exactly were they thinking? I like the songs, the flows are tight, but while the beats are decent, they are not J-5. And on one song, they got Dave Matthews singing in the chorus. It's a good song, but Dave Matthews?? Come on.

Also got the new Roots single "Don't Feel Right" and it's awesome, as expected. Game Theory, the name of the album, is schedule to drop in late August, but I wouldn't be surprised if they pushed it back a month or two.

Got the new Strange Fruit Project cd, it's pretty tight, though I think they could've been a little more creative with the beats. But, other than that, I don't really have any complaints.

I simply did not enjoy Game Theory on the first time through. I am interested to hear what others think about their latest.

I've heard most of it. I'm not at liberty to give the full circumstances, though.

My friend was raving about it "best Roots album yet", "it's that next level ish", blah blah blah. He let me have a listen to a very rough copy. It was good, but I hope the final, mastered copy has some changes. BT sounded like a renewed man, that's what stuck out the most.

friend of mine said that they tried to stress BTs vocals on the album and thus the beats are stripped down a little. Any truth to that?

I'm loving this cd every little bit that I can. You pop it in, and the replay value is endless. No doubt in anyone's mind that these guys have talent on their team (Sean Price, Buckshot, Smif n' Wessun, etc...), and this time around they have fly beats to go along with it. All 3 of 9th Wonder's tracks are great, especially "So Focused". That particular track has so much flavor, and the mood set is on the verge of mainstream discussion, but the lyrics are all so so true. We have all been there before. All the tracks are "fun" to listen to. Good to bump when your having a good time, and are pretty much doing anything. It immediately went on my XBOX 360, and 11 of the 14 tracks made the cut. I should also add, that I haven't listened to anything else on my 360 harddrive since loading this album on there. It's just that good. The few songs that didn't make the cut were victims of a untalented crew member trying to pretend he is lyrically gifted (drop the act Chucky, we didn't expect all 11 of you guys to have skills). Plus, those 3 songs also sounded a little (I might sound a little biased) "mainstreamish", and in my opinion, the radio SUCKS.

Probably one of those where you have to listen through multiple times to appreciate. Thus far it's not one of those "I'm defintely playing this in my car" types. I really do hope that changes.
