Re: mtvs top 10 greatest rappers ....
I'm happy with the list. All great rappers IMO. Cant really put them in any order. I think thats where the conflicts start cause if there was'nt any order to the list, most of yall would have agreed already.
IMO, Pac should be the #1. He may not have been the best lyricist but the emotion is unmatched. Thats the one thing thats missing in hip hop nowadays. Emotion. Thats why lots of ppl are hopping on Kanye's nuts.http://neverfollow.biz (Independent Music Group)Comment

True dat but Pac was #1 right before he died. His popularity was just about to reach the climax before he died. That sort of carried over after his death. Same thing with Big. Big was great but he hardly made enough music to really put himself in any catergory. He took Pac's spot and now he's considered one of the best ever.http://neverfollow.biz (Independent Music Group)Comment

Man, cats should of been up on Proof before he died. His album was really a sleeper. I already saw his album sell out this weekend when I went to the shop. Its sad that it takes violence to elevate ppl to listen to you.http://neverfollow.biz (Independent Music Group)Comment

Re: mtvs top 10 greatest rappers ....
in case you didnt know . it takes much more than just lyrically ability or punchlines to be a great rapper .
if that was the case tupac wouldnt be one of the 30 best rappers.Last edited by kuruption; 04-17-2006, 04:38 PM.And with the third pick - I made the earth sick

Originally posted by aholbert32I know but lyrical ability should be the biggest consideration when determining who was the greatest rapper. It should weigh more than popularity or record sales.
if that were the case than you wouldnt even have to have dope records to make the list. And with the third pick - I made the earth sick

Originally posted by aholbert32This always cracks me up. I remember back in 95' before Pac's death, NOBODY was saying he was a top lyricist. He was definetly popular but no one would rate him over a Rakim or KRS back then. Its funny how dying makes you a better rapper.Originally posted by BlzerLet me assure you that I am a huge proponent of size, and it greatly matters. Don't ever let anyone tell you otherwise.
If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)Comment

Originally posted by aholbert32Really? Just because you drop albums doesnt mean that they are good. Pac hasnt had a great album since Makaveli and only had 3 songs while he was alive that you could call outright classics (California Love, I Get Around and Keep Your Head Up). Dont get me wrong I love alot of Pac's songs but not all of them could be considered hits. Also, he never had a classic album while alive and Rakim and KRS did.Originally posted by BlzerLet me assure you that I am a huge proponent of size, and it greatly matters. Pac career was cut short but he is the equivalent of James Dean.“Nobody in the history of the game tried what I just tried. We’re talking about on the biggest stage, in New York, playing out of position and asked to hit fourth for the New York Yankees. I mean, that’s never been done.” - Sheffield on SheffieldComment
